Yes I am old but

I don't share this carrier with no one, this ain't no communism, no collective property, greets me like an unwanted guest.

Any way to mute that? Or perhaps replace that voice with a different one.

In my headcanon, my carrier has no human crew at all. It's just A.I., robots and soulless cyborgs. I replaced the standard voice with the Hannah module, whose robot-like (and slightly sarcastic sounding) voice suits this scenario very well. I also disabled all carrier greetings & chatter in EDCoPilot, because in such a setting they don't make any sense.

You could actually fix your FC crew voice effects so they all sounded synthetic. Message me on my Discord if you want to do that and i will help you out.

It always seemed strange to me that I was greeted by my own Fleet carrier crew as if I were not the owner but some regular guy. When I invest 5 Billion credits in something I expect a little respect from my Crew. I am not Mr. Musk (godsake). You cannot disrepect your Boss in real life as well. They should not hail me but when the owner comes goes they should be a little kinda.

And - even worse - your crew will refuse to protect your carrier from hostile attacks and they will even shoot on you if you hit a landing pad while trying to defend your fleet carrier with bare hands ...

That happens because it's not exactly your carrier.
It belongs, along with the crew, to the Brewer Corp.
You are only renting it and if you fail to pay the rent it gets repossessed

EDCoPilot fixes that.
Echoing this. My carrier now suitably fawns all over me when I make an appearance. You can even create a wider variety of responses from the FC Captain and flight controller. I get that you may not like Edge but it makes quite difference, especially the space chatter between pilots in your sector and docking/undocking with your carrier.

This so much.
I also want imperial and federal stations to address me by my earned ranks within their naval auxiliaries. That is literally the only purpose of an honorary title.

Almost the same thing here.

Numerous times (usually after spending money on a COVAS that turns out to be garbage) I've resolved to buy Voice Attack but, after browsing the site, I'm always baffled by what else I need in terms of hardware and software.
EDDI symbiotes perfectly with VA. You only need a microphone if you want to issue voice commands, but it's optional. Darkcyde has shared great settings for both programs, if you don't find the thread I could search for it in a while.

Edit: also, EDDI uses cottle language and you can edit/create your own greetings...

Bit of necromancing here, sorry.
I am trying to use the EDDI plugin (v 4.1.3) within Voice Attack (v. 1.16). I bought the HCS voice pack ages ago, if I remember correctly, Astra.
Anyway, the fact is that the EDDI and VoiceAttack (HCS / Astra) voices overlap, and one triggers the other, so it is a bit of a mess (I use speakers, not headphones).
Is there a way to:
  • have just one voice speaking (voice attack / Astra would be better), but the contents of EDDI are much better
  • increase the threshold at which commands are triggered by the synth voice (it should only recognise my voice, but hey...nobody is perfect)

Can anyone help?

Also when docking as a King on any Imperial station, a simple "...welcome, Sir" would be appropriate.
(same goes for Admiral with Feds)
A simple recognition of achieved status.
They do this currently. I get "we are honoured by your presence, commander" or is that just cos I'm friendly at the system as WELL as being king dong...
