I decided to go big to start with, then add some more to my original claim, finish it out, adding only orbital installations in my second claim.
Maybe we'll have figured a few things out by then.

I actually find hauling to be challenging, trying to get each approach and landing to be perfect. Getting to know the T-9 really well!
A coriolis starter is very doable in solo. That was actually what I chose for my first system (took me about 4 days of hauling).
I have completed the delivery of CMM composites, started the ceramics. Going well. It's amazing how fast you learn the approach patterns to installations if the body doesn't rotate. The eye shaped nebula is pretty much my guide to both my planetary landing zone and my departure point from the carrier.

No, my first system is still pristene and there are other places with populations and pristene.

Just finished tier 3 planetary port solo... ~220k Tons delivered, and that's after about 200k building other stuff in the system :s 100k+ of metal shipping is pretty tiresome.

There are many previously occupied systems in the bubble with pristine reserves. Those reserves don't seem to deplete over time, either.
Yeah, the planets tier 3 is daunting... The whole point system seems to make you want to not build tier 3 stations. After starting a Coriolis station I'm really starting to question my sanity.
I have a Tier 2 planetary port under construction in my first system and after I get that and the Coriolis built I will likely take a break from colonisation. Go kill things or something...
