You don't need an Anaconda to enjoy the game.

I also don't need an Aston Martin to enjoy going for a drive, but it certainly makes it more appealing. :D

I would call the imperial courier the Aston Martin of the space lanes. The Annacondas, Corvettes and Cutters are the big lorrys.

Actually the keelback is a fun little ship. Kind of sucks when you get interdicted by high rank fer de lance but otherwise it's great.

I totally agree. Love my Keelback. I am hoping they release some more medium/large sized ships with SLF, something like the size of a iClipper with good jump range. have no interest in the really big ships myself.

Fact is, it isn't difficult to "grind" rank, it isn't difficult to earn credit. It's just monotonous and that is the biggest whinge I keep hearing. The new CMDR does not want to have to work for his/her reward, they want it handed to them, I cannot tell how many thinly-veiled "give us stuff for easy or for free" posts I have read lately. Wormholes, "just one more slot", teleportation, instant ship transfers (!), seems like a lot of CMDRs want it all spoon-fed to them, just look at all the hype over a simple cut-scene!

Yeah, I have the big ships. Yeah, I "ground" (grinded?) for them. It wasn't difficult, just monotonous. Part-time probably 10-30 hrs/wk it took about 2 months to grind FED rank and about 6 weeks to grind IMP, I perceived the IMP rank grind to be easier, wasn't paying attention to the mission payouts and still earned several hundred million ranking up. I like the big ships mostly for the CGs, they haul an awful lot of cargo. Didn't even care about rank until it became the factor limiting my access to the Corvettes and Cutters. o7

yep , if you got the cash and no conda its very wrong :) ... in all seriousness though, its what you enjoy doing and the ship required to do it that is the only thing that matters.

peace out cmdr's o7

From a combat point of view.....
I've only really used the anaconda as an armed trader - I've tried it as a full-on combat ship - but I don't like it - it does not suit my preferred play style - I like to aim at my target, for that I need something a bit more maneuverable. I have 3 combat ships, Imperial Eagle, Vulture and FdL, I either use a combination of fixed beams + gimballed MCs or PACs and gimballed beams. My favourite to fly is the Imperial Eagle (fixed beams + gimballed MC), I can also attest that if you wing up with Eagles, the wing can take down large ships with some ease - so you don't need a conda, but friends are very helpful :)
