Edit: Not meaning to be dismissive or patronizing about the thing. I think it actually makes some sense, though I would probably design them a bit differently. Thin leather, or synthetics would probably be more ideal, and if grip is a thing, it should be more localized as a rubberized layer across the thinners of the fingers instead of beads of grip.
I use these sort of gloves for free weights, gardening, billiards, and to a lesser extent, golf. For billiards/pool, hand chalk is usually better anyway, but they do have their use.
I'm fortunate that my hands have natural padding for grip. My wife on the other hand has much flatter hands.
But I digress.
