Looks like OP was the only one who fell for thisoh btw, killing the scavenger is also the fastest way to rank upto Elite. 1% at deadly every 5mins. Thats right.... they dont shoot back, you make 100,000 combat points per 20mins and 1% at deadly towards Elite rank and its all danger free. Knock yourselves out.
SAG-A* is ideal.Where would one find such a touristtrapbeacon?

yeah those things at the planetary thargoids sites, those aren't scouts those are drones or scavengers. scouts look like tiny UFO things that fly around in like the ax combat zones. maybe that's where you messed up.Welp.
I can't find the post.
But.
You got me.
You lied.
I believed you.
I spent four sessions of multiple hours chasing it.
aaaand it was a lie.
Like they say in the big city: "If it sounds too good to be true, it is."
Well, it was kind of a cheesy exploit anyways.
So hat's off to you.
NO - I did no go to Hutton Orbital for a free Anaconda.
No.
I did, however rig a ship with AFMU and Toxic Cargo rack and go and get a Thargoid Sensor and travel all over the shop.
And I did go to an active Thargoid site.
And open the door with the Thargoid Sensor.
And I did (to my shame) kill about oh say uh let's call it an even hunned (100) Thargoid Scavengers.
So I HAVE maxed out the mats you can get from Scavengers. Harmless little things that they are.
But I have not moved my combat rank a single percent towards Elite.
So either Frontier thought that giving Scavengers Elite rank as a target was actually cheesy.
OR
I was sucked in, chewed up, spat out, stepped on, scraped off.
Well done whoever posted that as an exploit.
Looks like OP was the only one who fell for this

Edir: Though the info about cheesing the squad ranks is/was accurate
you need to kill scouts not scavengers.
It's the most efficient way because EVERY scout kill counts as elite and their spawn rate is high and consistent.
Incorrect. Killing 24 scavengers every 20 secs give you 1% elite rank at deadly every 5mins. this is much much faster than going after scouts.
Secondly anyone can do the scavenger dumb fire killing as they dont shoot back, you can do it in sidey from harmless to elite if you want.
Final tip, head to the material broker and fill up on the synth needed for the dumb fires... you will never need to rearm.
I only have a third place xeno defence trophy for the same reason. Had I known at the time, I'd have 2 first places lolThat's it. Thargoids are gonne because you lot cheated your ranks up with them.
Why do I feel like this is the guy the op is calling a liar?Incorrect. Killing 24 scavengers every 20 secs give you 1% elite rank at deadly every 5mins. this is much much faster than going after scouts.

Hey bro I'm not accusing you of lying or necessarily think you lied or actually give that much of a about it. I was just saying , based on your post compared to the op, it looked like he was talking about you. My bad if I offended you with that it wasn't my intentionI have pointed out this Squadron Leader Board and Combat Elite exploit every time the Squadron Leader Board Winners thread is posted and on the down to earth vid about "how to get elite combat quick".
So yeah, SRV killing scavengers not the way go.
Lots and lots of dumb fire is the way to go.
And yes i want this exploit fixed for both the leader board and as a quick way to get elite combat so if fdev does decide to fix it, please, pretty please, fix it for both.
It was him.Hey bro I'm not accusing you of lying or necessarily think you lied or actually give that much of a poopoo about it. I was just saying , based on your post compared to the op, it looked like he was talking about you. My bad if I offended you with that it wasn't my intention
It was him.
Killing scavengers is worthless.
Unless they only count when you are in a ship.
I think he means something else, not the scavengers that lurk at the active Thargoid sites.
