You never forget your first kill

Unlike many people I've never been to the combat zones so my combat against other players is limited.

I spent most of my time trading in Alpha, but switched to being a bounty hunter in the PB.

Anahit, LP-98-132 has been my home port for most of PB and I have encountered a fair few other commanders along the way, most have got on with their tasks, some have been friendly, lights and wing waggle acknowledgement.

I've had my ship destroyed a few times by PC's, but this has never bothered me.

Anyway, my point is I have become a more competent pilot and have learned the importance of power distribution and strafing etc.

Having finally upgraded to a Cobra, I encountered a PC sidewinder and we checked each other out. I decided to egress out of the asteroid field to drop of my stolen cargo :).

The Cmdr followed me out and started shooting. I didn't panic (which I would have done previously) full pips to systems and used the speed of the Cobra to extend. Once my shield had recovered I turned around and laid my 4 pulse lasers at him in controlled bursts not to overheat.

When he exploded the feeling I had was one of joy and justice and that I was now in a position to compete with aggression.

There will always be a bigger fish ( or snake in this case) and I still have much to learn about combat in Elite, but felt that this encounter was epic and it's like my adventures in space are really just beginning.

PVP is awesome

Many congratulations Commander :) I'm hoping to gain the experience of that kind of combat some day, but at the moment I seem to be cannon fodder for NPC and PC alike... I need practice!

Hey Turl, have bumped into you a few times in the mining resource area - flashed you, and scanned you a few times.

It is nice when people are left to go ahead and do their business, although if I see a human struggling with an NPC, I will get them a hand, but not steal their kill.

I don't venture there often, as the game crashes after about 3 kills in the asteroid fields.

Hi Dynamo,

Yes, it can be quite bad with the crashing, but I think it has got much more stable in the past week. Certainly better on a certain server range for me.

Anyways, good to see you out there! :)

Personally, I particularly enjoyed my first player kill with a single pulse laser. That was exquisite. :D

Good read, well done!

I've had some pretty exciting fights with human players and there's no bigger rush then a good kill or an escape with 5% hull.

I've played Eve online for many years and I can still remember some of the fights I was in. PVP action is just so much more memorable and rewarding.

The sweaty armpits afterwards I could do without though.

Nice read OP, well done.

My first (and so far only) PvP kill was somewhat less exciting. I was working the Federal Distress Signal when I noticed the last hostile target remaining was a player. Usually I bug out at the first sign of a hostile player, but he looked to be trying to escape himself as his hull was low. So I chased him and eventually finished him off.

A bit opportunistic, but no worse than what has also been done to me several times over. :p

Wow, such am achievement, killing sidewinder in a cobra :D. Nothing really to brag about. Now if you'd done opposite, killing cobra in sidewinder who mercilessly attacked you then yeah, I'd applaud you.

Nothing to brag about...

Depends on who you are I guess. I can't even kill NPC's - much less another player. Doesn't matter what ship you're in - it takes skill to kill anything.

Turl - a kill's a kill. Good work!
