Welcome CMDR's,

Well done on making it through yet another week.

Not a lot of time today so I'll be quick.

The poll is really simple this week... New ship designs or more of the old classics, which would you like Frontier to add first?

Don't forget to tell us what you voted for and why, also which old ships and what would the new ones do?

Lots for you to mull over and debate so go for it. The normal format for the thread will return next week, till then, beware the mods... Don't trust any of them especially you know who! ;)

I don't care if old or new, I just want more Imperial ships, and ship kits for them.

Love old ships, but, i voted for new.

The ship design team did some amazing stuff, and i wonder how creative they became. .. :D

I used to love the Saker.

And even though it's basically a flying brick I still miss the Panther.

Can't decide at eh moment how to mess with Bran... so many possibilities...

Old ships!

  • Krait: Either a new Ship-Launched Fighter, or maybe an alternative to the Eagle?
  • Boa: Logically I see this sitting inbetween Python and Anaconda - most likely a trade-specific vessel to rival the T9, but maybe faster/less capacity. Or, maybe, a mining tug with good cargo capacity and internals to match the limpet controllers?
  • Mamba: I can't remember exactly, but I think this was another smaller vessel... step up from the Sidewinder perhaps?
  • Moray: Somewhere round the size of a Cobra, I think... maybe a low-end passenger-focussed vessel?

Wasn't there a Copperhead in one of the versions? Might fill a slot for a planetary landing specialist vessel.

Haha, yes! Bigger than the T9 & twice the price... well armoured (especially with the new freighter hull buffs), and space for 4 (Large?) turrets (but with dreadful forward arcs) - but SO SLOW. I wouldn't want to try fit into the toaster slot when this was docking.

I want a Boa.

The more I think about it, the more I want the Boa to be a mining tug.

About the size of a 'Conda, but cheaper and slower with smaller core internals (so it's weaker in combat), but can still defend adequately against pirates with some turret hardpoints. Decent hull, lots of cargo space, size 4 refinery slot, size 7 collector slot, size 3 prospector slot, two medium hardpoints in the nose for mining lasers.

Might equally work as a salvage vessel. Clunky, industrial...

Voted new, not only in terms of the ships but because the moderation team need to turn over a new leaf, (especially TJ). They have all been extremely naughty lately and are, in my opinion at least, very close to having their crayons taken away from them. We need one more moderator, one with class, a different view and an alien bloodstream, obviously I nominate Ziggy.

I guess the first thing Ziggy would do is colouring the default forum theme brown / beige.

dont really mind if they are new or old, more ships is allways better.

but hey Bran, allready made it to colonia??

There are many old ships I'd like to see, Saker, Imperial Explorer, Wyvern.. it must be very difficult to select two or three of them for the future update, even thou It seems, that most people want to see Krait and Panther. As for the new ships, well, every ships design must be based on something and there are many players, for whom the "old" ships will be just as new as for us, when we started playing Elite in the old days. They can always add a bigger number after the "MK" :)
