Yes my friend, got there just in time to see the end of the new year fireworks... Well the ones that went off a few days into the new year. Currently I'm about 1-2Kylies away from Jaques on my Eco jump to Sag A but taking a break due to fatigue caused by pink planets or space madness - never sure which is which?

There are many old ships I'd like to see, Saker, Imperial Explorer, Wyvern.. it must be very difficult to select two or three of them for the future update, even thou It seems, that most people want to see Krait and Panther. As for the new ships, well, every ships design must be based on something and there are many players, for whom the "old" ships will be just as new as for us, when we started playing Elite in the old days. They can alays add a bigger number after the "MK"

Yeah for the big Imp. Exp. as an alternative to the Anaconda.

Got to be old ship designs, although I do like some of the newer stuff. Problem is that I think DBOBE does not own rights to them all (Ian Bell having some) which I guess will limit what comes down the track.

Could see the Skeet as a luxury vessel with the disk on the top rotating to provide gravity.

Since "new" designs is not specific it is impossible to say what whether they would improve the game or not. As for "old" ships, I believe it is unreasonable to assume exactly the same relative balance as previous games.

Overall, at this point I see no good reason to add more ship varieties yet. I would rather they concentrate on other things.

Oh you could not guess how much I agree with you... I have a few ideas on who would be good as 'guest' moderators.

SDC for just one day would be a blast!

I'd just ban everybody. That way the forums would be nice and quiet.


I mean, ok, there might be a couple of downsides to that, but I think you'll find it's worth it in the end.

Hmm, some interesting ideas,
Gluttony Fang 'moderating in the background' could have some legs.
Mr Braben moderating could be a disaster, he would constantly be pulling the wool sweaters over our eyes.
Ben Ryder would have us all taking the pee with constant moderation via cup of tea.
And finally Bran.....well, terrible idea, we all know you've been got to Bran, you are tainted via TJ-terfernece, if it went to a vote for you Bran, it would clearly be 70% against and 30% for.

I'm not seeing any objections... I'll hold a poll next week and get this essential change sorted out. I wonder how Mr Phispill will take the news he's been sacked in favour of a drunk old fool, a nutter of epic proportions and a collector of single malt Whiskies... What could possibly go wrong!

Just to be slightly on topic - I voted for the old ships, reason being I figure there would still be some old ships left flying. I'd love it if they were actually a shop purchase and limited in number to keep them nice and rare. Might not go down well with the players but I also think they should be nothing special, just a blast from the past for ship collectors.

i think its the pink planets... those can multiply space madness in no time at all. i was at Jaques too, but got bored, and took a sidey back to LHS 3447..

I musta dmit after just one week away from the game I am feeling the withdrawal symptoms and may well end up back in the pilots seat tonight. I figure some good classical music, a bottle of single malt and a flight plan of several hundred jumps to cover the next Kylie should scratch that itch.
