maybe the zero gravity environment and the G taken from supercruise/hyperspace made the human race look ugly in the future 
I hire and fire for looks name and backstory. The model you have selected has dozens of skin tones, hair colors, and make up sets. IMO she is #1 of the 3 female models available. It is really a shame that we can't holo-me the NPC pilots, and assign our own names to them. It would be great if their story evolved and was recorded in the codex along with close calls. and mission history together. It goes without saying they need to be on the bridge with you. A missed opportunity.

Because of the way npc crew currently functions I hire and fire them, if I use them at all.
I have not used npc crew for ages now. Even when I fly my Corvette, with SLF on board, I do not bother hiring pilots.
In my opinion Fdev needs to revamp the NPC crew mechanic. It needs to become much more interesting, with crew that can survive together with their cmdr.
And we should not have to keep paying crew if we do not use them. I fly ships without SLF a lot and it is absurd that my pilots still suck the life out of my profits. They become multi millionaires doing nothing noteworthy at all. Even if I use them they are just short lived distractions for my enemies.
I long for a solid implementation of an npc crew mechanic... something similar to the old Elite games. Bigger ships should not have full functionality without minimal crew on board. We should not be able to operate an Anaconda on our own.
I'll stop myself now.
Didn’t ask who uses ‘em, who keeps ‘em, or how you’d have implemented them if you worked for Frontier, but you don’t. Just wanted to see who has some pleasant looking ones.
But they eat up your credits.... don’t care. Own all the ships, even bought and A-rated a Phantom and a Mamba I havn’t Even flown.
But they eat up your XP... don’t care.. less than 5% Combat to reach Elite. Already Elite in Trade and Exploration.

I agree with the mechanic change when they were first introduced them I hired one to test. I did not keep them active then saw I was not making my normal CR and could not understand how 55mill disappeared. All the female passengers make me want to space them after leaving the space station so they cannot add to the gene pool. Since they are the norm humanity should be on the brink of collapse due to low birth rates.

The OP's NPC seems to have a "fuller" face, to me, but it does seem to be the same model.
TBH, I was really only thinking of NPCs I've seen in the game.
My previous NPC was easy on the eye but she was also a fairly common model so I was chuffed to find something different.
A change in hair color/style and some makeup magic and...
Gigi Hadid becomes Gigi Hadid. But she could have easily introduced herself as two different people.
