Your Client is too old, no update available though

Hi all,

Logged in today and was doing some basic Carrier admin when...Mauve Adder. Game has been crashing a LOT lately, so no surprise. I'm booted back to the main menu where it says "Your client is too old. Please upgrade to the latest version of Elite Dangerous". Oh, a new update, ok. I exit the game, which promptly crashes requiring a task kill. Lovely.

Re-launcher the launcher and...it's all up to date, no updates available. Hmm, maybe it did it automatically? Launch game and "Your client is too old...." etc.

Game currently unplayable. Menu also saying Servers are down, though the client claims they're Ok. Anyone else?

P.S. Forum is dead slow today too.

Still no "Upgrade" button on the Launcher...and it still says the Servers are fine... mixed messages lol.

The good news is that they're obviously doing something, so I welcome that as things are pretty bad currently. I've got numerous other issues when I am able to play, such as constant crashes - the game owes me a LOT of materials I was just scooping up when it crashed - my Crew is stuck at Deadly 100% and will not progress to Elite, plus many other issues as well as performance problems on foot.

yes i got a message ingame that an update is coming. but they could at least change the server status from ok to updating or something to indicate that there is something going on

I've been upgrades to "We cannot find any online servers for your region solo" - I feel special :)

Edit: I'm too old again (thanks for rubbing it in) feeling less special lol.

It's odd, the first place I looked was Twitter to see if there was any update, but the newest message was from yesterday. It's updated now.

Agree! The Launcher should be the FIRST place that's updated with the relevant down-time / patch news.
