I dont have question about flying. I know how to fly.
You definitely don't.
The problem is the ai is able to fly their ships in ways that shouldnt be possible.
Untrue.
An asp should be able match a cobra in manuevers.
What? No way. That's a claim about everyone in here should immediately start laughing after reading it.
The ASP is a big fat PIG. Don't you ever dare flying it like an agile Cobra. The latter is a real dancer if not hulled out. A thrusters, rest D-rated and you got a ship with a small silhouette that's fast in every direction with nearly no sliding and a 180 FA off turning ability that helps a lot in understanding what spatial orientation is all about.
NO WAY EVER an ASP can keep up with a Cobra in terms of agility. That's why it has 6 weapon pylons not 4 and it's why it has HUGE shields and a lot of utility slots.
But it should positively outgun it.
Only if your target is so polite to stand still until being dead. What counts is not only "punch per second" or "punch feed in the distributor", it's also TIME ON TARGET.
I can easily provide you a CMDR in a diamondback scout that will rip you apart in no time, no matter what you pay for gadgets in your ASP. Hey, you know I mean YOU ;-)
Thing is, lately, even in the vulture, i will tear the shields down and then, for some reason, be completely unable to get the target back in my sights until their shields are up.
You just disqualified yourself. Seriously. If you can't get on target in a Vulture in that much time, you're doing something extremely wrong.
Thats a consistant fact and it stinks of funky coding.
This stinks of about the most ignorant attitude I've ever seen in here. How about contemplating a bit? How about ASKING what's going wrong with your fighting? How about meeting some CMDR in game who can SHOW you how to fight?
STOP WHINING. LEARN TO FIGHT.
