The characteristics ? 1)Upload Mbps.--- 2)Download Mbps.--- 3)Distance to Dslam in meters.---4)Ping in milliseconds.---

Are you satisfied with your internet connection ? What are the benefits ? and disadvantages on your line ? Are you optimistic or pessimistic to play ED with your internet connection ? Other comments about your connection ?
As indicated from below by Mobius, you can do a test on the site http://www.speedtest.net/

Far from the optical fiber, but I'm happy with the speed of my ADSL line. At 336 meters from the dslam in my village.
2 to 3 times a day, I undergone disconnections. I am confident enough to play online on ED. Perhaps, one day there will Vdsl in my village ? My adsl internet connection :

BT Infinty FTTC
Download - 50-55 Mbps
Upload - 13-15 Mbps
Ping - 20-30ms
Distance to Dslam - unknown at time writing, would need to check

I'm quite happy with my connection and its been ok for a year since I went onto FTTC so I see no issue with running E: D over it as I host XSGamers TeamSpeak server on my micro-server and have no problems there as there's plenty of bandwidth.

6 ms ping, average 60 MB/s (peaked >100 MB/s) download, upload 11 MB/s. However, my wireless is well dodgy!

I won't post my speeds because you would all laugh. My connection is quite poor and extremely slow....not in MB but in KB !!

This is about as fast as it gets.

And for some reason they're just ignoring the whole of the East Midlands when it comes to fibre optics.

Fibre Optics!?! The only Fibre Optics around here are those hairy lamp things from the 1970s  And DobrijZmej. You get a faster speed linking to a London server? If I am reading that right. :S

it is GPRS, is no guarantee of speed - fast now, after two minutes there is no connection at all, after 10 minutes the medium, and so all day and all night :(

Thats maddening DobrijZmej. My connection drops out quite a bit too, sometimes in the middle of posting. Drives me mad it does. Perhaps one day we can all enjoy a net connection like the one Mobius or Gaz has. Mind you, speaking from Sunny Scotland, I wont hold my breath. :(

Geraldine, Yes, I hope one day I will have a good internet speed =)
I really hope that this will be before the autumn leaves begin to turn yellow =)
