Your most wanted animal (2022 edition)

So, my current "need to have" animals are:
Maned Wolf
Tanuki
Racoon
Skunk
South american coati
African Procupine (preferable South African)

As said , my most wanted changes every day. Or at least every weel. So despite my signature, at the moment it is clearly the Tanuki. I kond of "bonded" with one in a not so nice zoo. He / she made that day really special nevertheless. Very affectionated, almost asked to be touched (I didn't). So cute.

But really, any animal on that list, plus almost all monkey / primate species would make me estatic.
Yes yes and yes to all of these - all the small mammals are very needed for the zoo I’m building at the moment!
Also very sad but lovely story about the Tanuki. Shame some zoos keep their animals in not so great quality habitats, but nice that you could bond with it and enrich its life that day!

To be fair, the Tanukis enclosure was okay-ish, though I don't know if it was very happy with its racoon "room mate". However, all monkeys and the lions were kept in enclosures that just do not meet modern standards anymore. And with all due respect for financially struggleing, smaller zoos, this zoo crossed a line for me. Funny enough, it has quite a good reputation, but those mostly come from parents smaller children and well, it's a child friendly zoo and for most people that's the only thing they see.

For me personally I would pick a manatee but since we really don’t know if aquatic species will be a realistic possibility I will go with the black rhino. I know we have the white rhino already which I’m very happy about but without both African species it seems incomplete to me personally. Honorable mentions include howler monkey, pelican, maned wolf, walrus, porcupine, and dromedary camel just to name a few off the top of my head

Some type of average size fox, howler monkey, maybe a manatee (since they could be handled like gators and crocs), and a musk ox/takin/similar cold weather large ungulate. Musk ox would be my favorite.

I kinda agreed about the black rhino part although I couldn't expect zoos (like ones in Malaysia and Singapore) to afford and handle critically endangered rhinos.

I knew I already shown my most wanted which was African leopard but am I too late to show my runner ups?

Here's my runner ups: dromedary camel, any baboon species and perhaps another gibbon species (this time, ones with different gender colors like lar gibbon while for siamangs, both genders are black)
