Your Planet Zoo dream roadmap

Well, it's quite sad to say that but I am pretty pessimistic about the future of this game. I doubt we would ever see an aviary pack. I think no zoo game ever added that, and there quite a few reasons. It's hard to properly code and animate flying birds at the same time they try to keep performance and good animations. Not to account the player creativity and freedom. It's easy to have a pre-made aviary where the birds just repeat movements boringly. But creativity and freedom on creating habitats is one core aspect of the game, and we surely want that for aviaries. So yeah, I see Frontier not wanting to dwell in that and why.

An marine pack i think it's quite plausible since we have the foundations since Aquatic pack. Sharks, turtles, rays, new exihibt-like aquaries and so on.

Also, I would love if Frontier could get a little creativity going on with themed packs, like endangered animals pack, botanical pack, farm pack

So, keeping it (kind of) realistic, my dream roadmap:

2021

- August: Africa Pack

- December: Sea Pack

2022

- March/April: North America Pack

- August: Primate Pack (please, please, please) or endangered species-like pack, I dunno, "Save From Extinction","Last Chance" you name it

- December: Farm Pack (petting stations, cattle, goat, sheep, chicken, duck, pig etc)

2022 is unfornately the end of support by Frontier I believe, considering Planet Coaster.
I feel the same about aviaries too. And the choice of animals on peoples lists dont tend to go in them. Birds of prey/owls tend to be in smaller areas and are tethered, not free flying around an aviary.

Peoples lists don’t have them because it’s against the rules of the meta list

I remember year ago, people were saying same thing about deep diving and recently burrowing being part of the sequel. And yet we have both of them.

I think most people were convinced it would be added to PZ but not when - I remember Frontier mentioned they were working on it but it was more complex/difficult to implement (discord or Q&A ?).
and burrowing - a lot of people were convinced it would be an enrichment item. Maybe that one stems from the expectation of a more detailed burrowing feature? I don't mind the current burrowing but it is a very basic one (2 animations).

There are other lists than the meta list :p

Aviary expansion
Europe 4+1 pack
Desert animal pack
Tropical\ arboreal animal pack
Aquarium expansion
If I had to guess, this would be somewhat it. Aviary pack could be released later, still not convinced that's a certain release in December. And don't think it's an expansion pack but you can always hope :D

A bit of a controversial opinion maybe, but I don't think we'll be getting a Europe Pack. I think we'll be getting four more DLCs;

January 2022: Temperate Animal Pack
April 2022: Tropical Animal Pack
July 2022: Desert Animal Pack
October 2022: Aviary Pack

Could be but apparently coding has been found listing non specific denotations for 5 more DLC. I'm not sure if it's labels or tags or what, and it doesn't give a specific to the theme, just that it's like DLC 8 through 12. Granted, Frontier doesn't have to release all 5, but I do think it's likely.

Everyone hoping for so many animals but neglecting the building side. So my wish is that at least there is another big building addition somewhere.

2021 dec: The ultimate zoo pack- full tlc on more backstage decorations, enrichment items, food/drink stalls, more building types (including more shiny metal options) + 4 common animals in every zoo and 1 common exhibit animal

2022. March: rainforest pack - 8 animals 1 exhibit, more thin and tall trees (under canopy species) forest themed benches and chairs (log bench)

2022 June: Scaley pursuit: 4 new animals, 1 exhibit. All large reptiles + new tree climbing structures that monitors can climb up, more log types and sizes (smaller log varieties) and even shelter logs animals will sleep in. (3 large lizards, a tortoise + Australian freshwater crocodile)

2022 September: birds of the world: 8 animals (including flightless like emu and secretary bird) and 1 exhibit. New exhibit structure: aviary + exhibit tlc.

2022 December: North to South: 8 animals 1 exhibit focusing on some missing species like the Tasmanian devil, walrus and bats.
