Alliance, cause I want to join a faction that is similar, if not close to being what GalCop was.

Bingo. I always thought of the Alliance as the new GalCop with a mission to rectify the Thargoid blunder.

Quite funny that some are saying that they support this faction or that, but haven't yet clicked one in their forum settings to show the faction logo watermark in their posts.

As for my reason well to be honest I could spend hours searching the internet reading up on the history of the empire and the lore then post some really long winded overly complicated reasons but the truth is it's the imperial ships that won me over (and the slaves who do ANYTHING you tell them too )

Interesting that this thread made me change what my faction choice was. I like Tech, I don't like empires. Loose Alliances are secular and only play together because safety in numbers. So, to get to higher tech with more form and no be a Empire... that leaves Federation.

Not decided which puts me as independent at the time. I like the idea of doing "what the hell i want" to achieve my goals, and to be able to use/abuse factions for economical gains. Not sure how rep and such will work in 1.0, but for now i think i stand alone until i gain more knowledge.

I would think that Independent would make you 'Alliance' by default. My thought on that is they are a Alliance by need of survival, not for ideology. They tend to tolerate each other but prefer to be left alone to do whatever they what to do.

Sounds good to me. Secular/mind your own business style. Going with the other 2 you gotta do and think like everyone else. Not my cup of tea.
