Your set-up while useing the rift

So what do my fellow commanders all use to pilot their ships while immersed with the rift? i use a Xbox360 controller for all flight controls and the Num pad for all menu controls. if anyone wants to see how i have it mapped out ill post it.

Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS
Saitek Combat Pedals
Sennheiser HD 598 Open-ear headphones
Elemental Designs 12" 500 watt ported HT subwoofer
AntLion Mic
Voice Attack with custom recorded ship voice responses
Obutto Revolution CockPit - in the mail

Saitek X52 Pro HOTAS
Voice Attack - for landing gear, cargo scoop, chaff, heat sink, etc
Sennheiser HD 558 headphones

Looking forward to version of VA currently in beta that allows arbitrary dictation to make the Galaxy map less painful. Meanwhile I have shortcuts for my favorite destinations, like systems in my rare circuit.

Saitek X52 Pro HOTAS, Saitek rudder pedals, BK gamer, Voice attack, a big ol comfy seat from a range rover & a strategically placed desk fan to keep me cool :)

Pure bliss!

Saitek X52 Pro HOTAS (default bindings), Voice Attack, Corsair wireless headset. Seriously considering some kind of gaming chair setup, the old office chair just doesn't cut it for this.

custom gaming chair
EliteDangerousChair.jpg
x52 joystick with a modified setup (based on the standard x52 mappings but changed slightly for voice attack/teamspeak and such)
G35 logitech headphones with the buttons mapped to control my media player
voice attack with a slightly modified astra/legend (I changed some of the commands to eliminate a few star trek references and streamline plotting courses by voice for commonly visited systems).
Teamspeak :)
Custom HUD colors to make things easier to read.

I have the keyboard placed so that it is easy to find the home row which is ok, I just wish more commanders in game would answer a voice call over. Even if they don't have voice and respond by typing.

I like what you've got there. I also see you managed to get that purple crap EVERYWHERE!! lolol.. nothing a little spray paint cant fix. plus I dont think you can see it with the rift on anyways. how does it feel? is the pvc sturdy and all?

this is my makeshift nerd lair. I was inspired by ED and the rift to pull the passenger seat out of my non-street legal K-5 and turn it into a cockpit. this weekend i'll be going to buy some steel and pull out the mig. should be done by sunday. i'll post pics on completion.oh, and sorry about the quality of this pic..my phone cam is alittle messed up:rolleyes:
p.s. this things getting shakers too.

I have a pretty low-end setup compared to many of you:

- CH Products F-16 Combat Stick 568 USB (from 2008)
- Much older Thrustmaster pedals (originally had an analog game port connector, modded with USB connector & controller by a friend)
- Kingston HyperX Cloud headset
- Voice Attack

Considering going to full HOTAS (the current stick has throttle which works fine, so I don't have an immediate need for that as I have Voice Attack). Can't properly handle Assist Off (or specifically lateral thrust) with the current setup, though.

Handbuilt wooden rig (used for IRacing as well)
Saitek X-55 HOTAS
SteelSeries Siberia v2 Gaming Headset (the most comfortable headphones I have ever used)
VoiceAttack and HCS Voice Pack

X55 HOTAS

I picked up voice attack last night as well... its not needed but I just wanted to say "engage" before going to super cruise ;)

X55 Hotas with custom mapping.
Logitech G930 heatset.

No voice attack. So far i did not see the need for it since the x-55 has buttons for everything.

Logitech wireless Wave MK550 on my left hand
Logitech MX1100R on my right hand
Has all the buttons i could ever need AND i never have to switch between anything. Sure flight assist off is super hard to control, doesn't mean its impossible though...

I would love to switch to something like the razer nostromo on my left and a force feedback joystick on my right... but i dream... and cant seem to find a good force feedback joystick.
