this is my makeshift nerd lair. I was inspired by ED and the rift to pull the passenger seat out of my non-street legal K-5 and turn it into a cockpit. this weekend i'll be going to buy some steel and pull out the mig. should be done by sunday. i'll post pics on completion.oh, and sorry about the quality of this pic..my phone cam is alittle messed up:rolleyes:
p.s. this things getting shakers too.

Yep, I did manage to get the purple stuff everywhere XD Knocked the can over once and so glad I had plastic down LOL

It is extremely stable for, I have no issues at all nor worries about stability with that chair. I plan later this spring to paint the pvc parts an antiqued copper to give it that steampunk feel. The wood is all oak, so with some minor finishing it will be a steampunk flight sim chair :p

Cylonsurfer, can you give some detail on how you made the x55 mounts? they look very good...

@cylonsurfer, NARCE!!! did you make the controller platforms or is that something aftermarkety?

I wish I could take credit for the idea but the mounting is based on the info in this thread:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?p=305712

I used a slightly different double jointed VESA mount for more maneuverability but overall it's the same concept. The industrial strength velcro is unbelievable, the X55 doesn't move a millimeter, even in combat.
