Ships Your top 3 "Ship Designs"

I'd like to know what YOU think are the best looking ships in the game.
This is meant as a purely aesthetic question, meaning nothing else comes into factor than looks.
Feel free to add pictures to prove any points!
It's pretty forward:

1: Imperial Clipper
An absolute beauty and a pleasure to the eye. Sexy curves and a spot on interior for my tastes. A definite #1

2: Anaconda
Someone merged the top half of a submarine with an upside down containership and it turned out crazy good. Super design.

3: Type 7
This design SCREAMS heavy duty cargo truck. It's absolutely spot on for it's role. Love it

BONUS:
Would have chosen the Cutter from the early concept art, but as the design turned out, this is now roaming somewhere in the bottom of my list.

#1: Imperial Clipper just because both the exterior and the interior look so sexy, even in the default paint job!

#2: Eagle MK II because the design just screams "Fighter!" at you :)

#3: Viper MK III because it tells you right up front "I'm a no-nonsense combat ship."

People really like those sleek designs, I like the functional looking ones and no wonder my top 2 choices are the best multi-functional medium-sized ships in the game at this point: the Python and the Asp Explorer.

I doubt that ships of the future would have peripherals the way imperial ships have, because it's a risky way of designing them. From a combination of factors like sleek shape and robust design that would keep you safe, the Python takes #1 spot in my books. It is more likely that ship of the future would look like this rather than a Clipper or Cutter. And I like it's versatility too, in-game. Having more internal modules is simply the best way to go when you don't want to reduce your scope to a single profession.

However, from a functional perspective, since I bought my Python, I found myself playing just as many hours in the ship that made me the money for a Python, the Asp Explorer. Fighting PvE, smuggling, powerplay, repping up with local factions, they all feel much better in an Asp because she's surprisingly agile and I still don't want to trade it's jump range for nothing else in the game. The design is crude, but I love her chubby parts just as much

I would have added the Cobra MkIII, just to have a small sized ship here, but I really dislike the back look of the Cobra. It doesn't make the cut, but I still like flying it too, from time to time.

1: the Imperial Eagle: each detail is incredible, and the overall aspect is impressive.

latest

2: Viper Mk 2, simple and yet looks fast and dangerous

3: the third place is between Ocra and Cutter for me:

Special place for the FdL, Imperial Courier, and the Diamondback Scout.

SpaceMonkeyBoom,

Completely agree with your choices (except the Type 9 which is a bit ugly to me). However, I would put into the mix the Imperial Courier - basically beautiful functional ships all.

CMDR Starraker

1: Imperial Cutter

Well, it could equally have been the Clipper or Courier, but the Cutter's interior pips it for me. Sheer, unadulterated, Imperial bling. Stylish to the point of vulgarity, I love it.

2: Python

As an old '84 hand, the first time one of these hove into view, while playing Elite Dangerous, I had a 'moment'. A mixture of nostalgia and, "Oh my goodness, a Python, that is just how it should look! I want one!" I was in a Cobra at the time, with a long way to go before that could happen. There is just something about the dimensions which is deeply satisfying.

3: Fer-de-Lance

Whether or not the pilot is up to the job, the Fer-de-Lance just looks the business. There is no mistaking its purpose, purely judging by the aesthetics. It also has a fantastic bridge.

Ugly Beautiful

1: Federal Assault Ship

2: T-9

3: Diamondback Scout

Pretty much the whole Gutamaya line, really. They look great, inside and out, and they SOUND great!

I'm also fond of the Diamondback series for creating a unique looking cockpit that looks like it's being held together by duct tape and willpower ;) In fact, I love all of Lakon's cockpits because of the amazing visibility. Lakon design seems to promote practicality over eye candy and for this reason, they win points as well.

Clipper screams that is fast and stylish
Python is muscle and serious
Vulture is badass looking. Designed for men.

The Fer-de-Lance I wanted since I saw the artwork previewed. The underside is especially nice IMO.

The Clipper is the closest to the FE2 Courier that there is, and has some pretty nice lines. I would like a more aggressive looking nose, but maybe for a 'variant' ;) in the future. The large wingspan (compared to the other Imperial ships) is quite a cool looking feature.

I like this one too, but I feel like a wider 'wingspan' would be cooler looking.

I actually quite like the Farragut and Corvette, as they kind of remind me of Imperial Star destroyers. Faulcon deLacy ships feel kind of cosy, especially the Cobra and Python, which I like. I wish FdL made the Asp, as I don't like the Lakon canopy it has, but otherwise like the shape (especially the scout).
