I agree with Sir David Attenborough, but I would also add (as another option) that fine Welsh actor Richard Burton. His voice helped make the first of Jeff Wayne's "War of the Worlds" epic. I have not (yet) heard the anniversary edition, with Liam Neeson.

IMHO they ruined it with Liam Neeson and "discofying" the soundtrack.

I used to have Joanna Lumley as my TomTom voice, she was lovely.
We've got Bill Shatner as Orion, so why not Patrick Stewart?

Admiral Ackbar would also not be a poor choice in this topic, but even now I can hear "It's a trap!" ;)

Edit: And as I re-read a second time, "us" is incredibly ominous...

Either Joanna Lumley, Cary Grant or Richard Burton. I wouldnt mind either Ray Romano or Patricia Heaton either.
