Zemina Torval supporters thread.

I think you Torval supporters should start by co-operating with Mahon's to see if you can't get your leaders' pictures on the launcher.

A mining laser? I ask! The other factions get shields, or missile racks, or cannons. Poor Torval gets a mining laser. That is such a niche item it's practically not worth having for most people.

Sabotaged by FDev.

She could have done with something a little more interesting. Maybe a utility that dissipates heat faster without needing heat sinks (useful for silent running or scooping if you want to avoid stations). Or perhaps a utility that prevents scans from penetrating the cargo bay (useful if you're moving slaves around). Even a cockpit bobblehead would probably get more love than a mining laser.

Good idea, something like unscanable cargo racks (20%ish of total available to start).
Good luck to all CMDRs backing Torval, I wish you every success unless it interferes with Patreus.

What? Interfere with Patreus? Naa... the mere thought of it.. the audacity one might even think so, atrocious! *cough*... *gasps*

... i like it :D

To be honest, i am quite gratefull that Torval only gets a Mining Laser. Keeps people out that only contribute because of the shiny without thinking where said points are best spent to benefit the faction. Doesn't help against all odds, but at least against some.

I think you have a good point.

There will probably be a lot of players leaving for instance Aisling after they have gotten their special shiny looking for more.

I actually looked at all the powers since launch to get a feel how they played and communicated.

Looking at Torval's moves it seemed like it had a good player base without much fifth coloumning going on.

You also have goons, but thankfully goons who have left their EVE ways behind them. Thinking about the East India Company.

Sadly threads like this has seen little activity.

Being an economist myself, I think with a bit of bias that profit oriented people are the most rational :p

I love people who make impopular choices.Best of luck to senator Torval's supporters and long live the Empire!

Torval might be the dark horse in all of this, with the most intelligent player base :)

That mining laser might be a blessing in disguide :p

Not yet, but I can't carry on criticising PP unless I have a fair go at it. So I'm going to take the plunge as soon as I work out what's going on here. :D

Why not.

With the current system you can leave at any time without any sort of repercussions anyhow...

Btw, do you play in open? Would be fun to wing up sometimes if you feel like killing some feds :p

Well - it's not working - Jeterait is the most overprepared system - potential yield: 25 CC. Not sure if idiocy, laziness or sabotage - probably a combination of all three...

Same goes for overfortified and overexpanded systems.

We should have imperial loyalty first. Small things like profit, slavery can be sorted out later when the feds are dealt with :p

Or a profitable trade route is to be had to the same location :p

Yea, i know. Had high hopes that those Extra Nominations you get would be worth something so people that picked the faction because they like it, or it fits to their RP or whatnot could compansate such things... but well, still not sure if i shall laugh or cry regarding those "Nomination Votes".

P.S Still, despite that. I am happy that at least some players have choosen quite nicely, at times exactly the systems i had on my mind last week.

That bobblehead idea sounds worryingly tempting... :D

People grinding merits, paying little attention to the bigger picture.

It is essential for the future of powerplay that FDev find some way to link the rewards to the powers overall success in a way the players can grasp and understand at a glance. Doing it on the basis of merits earned is basically rewarding efficiency and the path of least resistance, not rewarding trying to advance your factions status.

Of course this could lead to a positive feedback loop, where stronger factions get more players seeking bigger rewards, and because they have more players they become even more unstoppable. So it's a tricky one to balance.

Yep, a lot. I tend to go solo only in my Type-9, and that's only because there is too much pew pew pew sometimes.

I am grinding out fed ranks at the moment in anticipation of the Corvette, so you're more likely to shoot at me than wing up. :D But I'll wing up if you want to do some CGs or something.

Nomination votes are a joke. We reported it in beta...

Before launch, I was under the impression that votes were actually what decided expansion targets.

If they change it so votes actually are the deciding factor it will be an improvement, but still infiltrators could just vote up crappy systems...

Or people use trade tools and therefore act like lemmings.

Doesn't really explain the preparation effort made for one of the most useless systems for Torval as taking PP items diminishes the cargohold. Especially as that miniscule trading voucher system isn't even implemented yet.

You tend to bring up good points as usual.

Overall success needs to be rewarded, but as I said in my beta thread just using the top 3 in overall galactic standing is a poor measure. It needs to be relative so even fighting well and hard for someone like Archon will be rewarded as well.

Btw, Frontier admitted before powerplay launch that they had no idea how powerplay would actually work, so I think they are open to adjustments as weakness etc in the current systems are exposed. Fuzzy, you know and have seen that they do listen.

I will revive a revised version of my beta thread about the reward system next week.

Hope you will contribute.

Anyhow, sorry Torval supporters for digressing in your thread.

*let's call it a silent running bump*

Have fun guys :)

Empire Baron Rudolphus pledged to Zemina Torval, without any shame

What we need to do

- is to build up wings and start a home protection force
- wings that fly with a trader

I propose to meet tomorrow 21:00 Galnet time in Synteini Lakervist Gateway
and make plans together

Hit the nail on the head, that was what i expected of said votes as well. That they carry weight, have meaning. After i have pushed to Rank 4, and seen that its quite the contrary, i guess i will take it easy now and just look that i keep Rank 2 or 3. The amount of time i safe that way, i can go on trading and invest directly into the systems that are important. That carries more weight than those hilarious nomination votes.
