Zoo Tycoon 2 Animals

I see what you're going for here but if the animals from PZ1 base game aren't in PZ2 base game I would just keep playing PZ1. Having to buy the cheetah, snow leopard, and aardvark? That's on the same level as what they did with the polar bear and penguin. Those are zoo staples, and should be available from the start. I like the addition of aquariums and various exhibit sizes though, that might catch my interest. But if this is what they did with a sequel I wouldn't buy it.

It's different from how ZT2 did it because it only had like 3? 4? Expansions, and you can just get them all for like $40 in the complete collection, you don't have to buy them separate at all, whereas PZ has over $100 worth of DLC that you have to get separately or pay the full like $150 for the base game and all the DLC at once.

It would be a huge mistake if they cut out their current roster just to make you buy them all over again. As a consumer and target audience for this game, I simply would not waste my time and money when they're all right there in the first game I already paid for. And no, the aquarium additions would not be enough to change my mind on that.

The OP has some fantastic rosters especially the base game. As for mammals I know they're in the "free gifts" for later part, but I'd probably want to put the Indian/Asian elephant in the base game as well and make the Sumatran Tiger the "free gift" animal in it's place. So basically switch those two.

I'd definitely want more exhibit-type birds, walk through or not.

These are the Zoo Tycoon 2 animals. Not sure what all this PZ2 talk is about.

I know that it's off topic, but it's funny seeing the roster laid out like that, there's 130 animals total, and not counting the extinct and marine animals, 70 animals that would fall under what PZ is doing, a total of 30 from the base game. The whole idea that Planet Zoo's roster is emptier than ZT's was never true and it's even less true now. It's all about the species, I think.

Also....ooof. That gibbon o_O

Well it was more about the Zoo Tycoon 1 roster vs Zoo Tycoon 2 roster, they didn't add EVERY animal from Zoo Tycoon into Zoo Tycoon 2 starting roster.

But people now seem to forget that game creators need money as well, so putting in 200+ species in a base roster for only 60 Euro/dollars is insane thoughts.

I see your argument. I honestly don't know, because JWE 2 does have the entire JWE 1 roster (DLC included) in the base game.
However, JWE is connected to Universal, so it's possible that it wasn't entirely Frontier's idea.

To add to this, as far as I know JWE 2 is the only sequel. Do you think Frontier would release a Planet Zoo sequel, especially so close to the 1st one? I think that it'd be a bad move, because the current game is still one of their most popular, if not most popular, games, and releasing a sequel that doesn't add much would seem like a waste of time and money.

But maybe I'm wrong, so who knows

why on planet zoo 2 hypotecally all animals from the first game wouldn´t be in the sequel??
if jwe 2 inclueded all the animals from the first game and all from the dlc´s, why not PZ2?
Now that you guys said this then what would a PZ2 be like? All dlcs would have to be full of niche animals or entirerly based on aviaries or and aquariums/aquatic animals.

That is not off-topic. The thread is called Zoo Tycoon 2 animals

Exactly, because that would be the main draw of the sequel: aquariums, birds, and niche animals that either didn't make the cut for PZ1 or just couldn't be added because of technical constraints. A sequel should build upon the foundations of the first game.

I would like it if PZ2 had vastly improved management, less irritating menus, a way to track your released animals, actual individual animal personalities, more unique behaviors for respective species, interspecies interactions, less irritating hitboxes, better AI, much better climbing, animals and fur that looks accurate from the start (like the poor orangutan that looks like a puffball), rescue/rehab/breeding/education programs. Things that feel impactful, since these games are supposed to be about conservation and education. And of course the addition of free built aquariums, various exhibit sizes, and flying aviary birds.

Oh, and a completely new pathing system. I've gotten used to the current system, but it could be a lot better to say the very least.

PLanet Zoo 2 is called, the impossible dream and think again realism lovers.

It's just the same 200 animals, but they add the Saiga, Shoebill and Leopard Seal to scare away realism lovers.

yes, also for example jwe 2 only had a few new dinosaurs when it started but the "upgrade" was all the systems were better than the first game

A lot of those things could be implemented in free updates if they cared about fixing some issues.

I just don't see the point of a PZ 2.

I don't see niche animals selling well among the general public.

Aquariums sure but that would be a completly different game. An aviaries should be part of this game already.

Well, no, it wouldn't be impossible. That's the point of upgrading from one game's mechanics to the next game's mechanics. And as far as I know shoebill aren't all that uncommon in zoos. I meant more niche like tamarins, manatees, beluga, naked molerats, eagles, what have you.

Subspecies people really want like Asiatic lion, Sumatran tiger, African leopard, the zillions of penguin species would, imo, make for good DLC animals in a sequel because they might have less of a chance to be in PZ1. We'd already have the ones from the first game, so we wouldn't have to buy them all over again and the devs could focus on other animals people still want.

You asked us our thoughts, I'm just trying to think outside the box.

I agree. I don't want aquariums as a separate game, though. That's just personal preference.

I want them expand on PLanet Zoo 1 for a long long time, but realism tells me this is the last year of support and they start working on 2, 2 will be reality in at least 5 years.
