I downloaded the new client-installer.exe and ran it. Made a new icon and all. I run the new Launcher and it says my client is still old and to down load the new client-installer.exe. So I did it again. Same results. The game can't (or doesn't seem to) recognize it's been updated leaving me in an endlless loop of download/install with no results.

Installer downloaded from frontierstore is ok

Only worked for me if I chose the ED: Beta download. The launcher I got choosing ED: Life Time Pass was the old one.

@sallymorganmoore any chance we could have a way to uninstall the legacy version from Steam version of the game? It is currently not possible because it is the default depot. Creating virtual DLC called like "legacy" would let people who don't want to keep legacy version on disk to just uncheck it in Steam and prevent from being redownloaded.

I fixed it by re-downloading the original installer from my order in my account page!

Yep, that fixed the loop monster and got the proper download

To anyone having trouble with the Frontier client, and the "your client needs to be updated" loop -- try going into your Frontier account, search your downloadable items, and downloading the client from there. That seems to have done the trick for me, and it's updating my game right now.

Anyone able to get in after the cinematic? It just sits at the spinning ship loading screen and then errors out for me.
