At least the name Odyssey makes sense that wayThats the default 'no action' state, yes. But to be honest the BGS was not really being used beyond gardening factions.
BTW from what has been guessed at it will take 8 years for the Goids to take over everything if nothing is done, and even then you'd have FCs and a Battlestar Galactica situation.
Automated too. No dev time.Well, the Thargoid invasion is a very convenient way to solve that: inactive PMFs will be removed from the game, sprawling PMFs who can't actually maintain that territory will have it trimmed, etc. etc.
I am trying to follow your logic but it hurts a lot.So this is it I think. If humanity will not develop new weapons to fight, the bubble will be purged with almost whole humanity in it; at the late 2023/24 game will eventually die (Live version). That's why we recived Legacy version to play in "old fashion way".
Of course this is only mine point of view but it is highly possible that this will happen. What do you think commanders?
Plus which, we players have been told, in no uncertain terms, Colonia is not safe either. I guess Explorer's Anchorage might be a nice spot to hang out at. Not much trading going on there though.Thats the default 'no action' state, yes. But to be honest the BGS was not really being used beyond gardening factions.

For the Live game, all too true. I'm curious as to how many will opt for legacy.Plus which, we players have been told, in no uncertain terms, Colonia is not safe either. I guess explorers Anchorage might be a nice spot to hang out at. Not much trading going on there though.
As I said in another thread: "We've got a date with Destiny, boys, and she just ordered the lobster." (Mystery Men) - and we've just been tossed one hell of a lobster at us.
It's going to be up to us to either save it or let it burn.
Maybe one of the engineers can come up with a Febreze bomb.I am wondering if Thargoids expand the caustic fart generators as they capture systems
Think Megaships will be safe too. So you could sit out at Fisher's Rest in Aldebaran if need be.Thats the default 'no action' state, yes. But to be honest the BGS was not really being used beyond gardening factions.

I want Colonia to be burnt to a crisp, a metaphorical head on a stick. I would have much preferred it went first and been this in game form......Plus which, we players have been told, in no uncertain terms, Colonia is not safe either. If I was FDev I'd have gone for Colonia first too.I want Colonia to be burnt to a crisp, a metaphorical head on a stick. I would have much preferred it went first and been this in game form......

Why tho?If I was FDev I'd have gone for Colonia first too.
A demonstration of power, and setting up a siege situation where you have a defined arena / logistics problems. Why tho?
So that the boring ignorers can carry on half a year longer, and the Colonials suffer for it?
The only way that meme could be better would be an image right underneath it of a whole bunch of lobsters looking up and asking "Huh??????"I want Colonia to be burnt to a crisp, a metaphorical head on a stick. I would have much preferred it went first and been this in game form......

Problem is, it wouldn't. The same people now ignoring the new content would also ignore Colonia being destroyed, because "meh them Colonials".A demonstration of power, and setting up a siege situation where you have a defined arena / logistics problems.
But make no mistake, in My pLAN™ Colonia being spanked would be the first spinning plate and not the last.
Like I said, its the first spinning plate amid the eight- but its a microcosm of the bubble in that would the Colonials pull together? Having eight dreadnoughts on predictable trajectories means people will rally to the points of entry (or not).Problem is, it wouldn't. The same people now ignoring the new content would also ignore Colonia being destroyed, because "meh them Colonials".
The bubble must burn to change the status quo. And if that means the game goes out with a bang, so be it.
At least it got me back in the game, I'm more than intrigued.
This is why FD need to leverage large ships more- say if you had a small cluster of indie colonies you could make a remote CG essentially copying Battlestar Galactica- the colony builds and launches megaships akin to the Gnosis and goes wandering Thargoid free in a remote area. I'm 100% sure explorer types, other FCs etc would join in, and people who can;t afford FCs can use other FCs or tag along with the megaships.Y'know, somehow I didn't consider FCs. That's a good point.
Assuming the extreme of everything being wiped out, FCs are currently invincible right? So even in the worst case scenario, players would still be able to carry on using FCs as stations.
