Here's the scale of Vista robbery (lying about payouts), just on a few hand-ins yesterday - they're withholding about 42% of what they claimed to have paid me:

I spent ~4h the past couple of days doing exobiology, in a random direction, 500LY from the Bubble. All new discoveries.
Inara shows a credit increase as per Vista Genomics ~540m or ~130m/h (although my 4h is an estimate could be 3:30 to 4:30). That’s a really good payout.
However my rank is only 0% Geneticist. As per Wiki that would be 216m (or ~50m/hour, not the best money maker but worth the effort).
Will check in game tonight to see if the Inara credits are correct. If it is similar to everyone else, it should be incorrect but why would Inara provide the wrong values?
Don't believe the credit amounts. My inara logs show exo payments followed by a significant negative balance correction some time later when inara syncs with the fdev servers.
Where is Inara getting the initial figure from? Since you have to import data from Frontier to update Inara now.
You are right to not believe it. It is more like 50m/h as per the rank increase
Do you use ED discovery? I'm guessing our game Journals show the same figures as the Vista Genomics payout text. FDev servers, and the game client, disagree.
Initial values are from the journal logs uploaded real-time.
Inara syncs with fdev every day and resolves any discrepancies, which for the exo data can be seen as negative balance adjustments on inara and "frontier regulation" lines in the account book on EDSM.
I have something to look forward too when I getting back XD I have scanned two bacterium so far, but planned to try to get more. Those credits plus from codex discoveries and system scans can end up giving me alot
Well then, from the incoming update's patch notes (and a subsequent CM reply), it's the rank requirements that are going to be increased, the payouts will be the same:
"Exobiology rank requirements have been adjusted to correctly account for their adjusted balance.
Developer note: Your Exobiologist rank progress may appear to be greatly slowed until your next rank is achieved in order to adjust to the new tiers."

Seems like an appropriate solution. Those who haven't yet made it to Elite V (and care about ranks) will still see progress - while raking in gazillions
- and those who care about credits will continue to rake them in.

Did anyone tested if that first dicovery bonus is now correct?
Hard to say. The values shown at vista now seem to reflect the credits received, but the discovery amounts look a lot lower -- I'm hoping it was just the bios I had being low value, but I'll test with better items later.
