Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

Okay! We have many systems returning, including almost all of the top list from the previous cycle.

Holvandalla is ahead in its first Invasion week along with Vogulu, Jementi, HIP 20485 and Hyades Sector YZ-O b6-3 also all fresh out of the Alert state. HIP 11111, HIP 21380 and Yemaki should be among the best general targets for supporting all roles well, followed by Namayu depending on activity levels, and Chanyaya almost certainly has popular support.

Top targets at 19:45 12th January 3309:
Holvandalla Invasion + 5 ports – 10%
HIP 11111 Invasion + 1 port – 8%
HIP 21380 Invasion + 1 port – 8%
Chanyaya Invasion + 0 ports – 6%
Vogulu Invasion + 5 ports – 6%
Yemaki Invasion + 2 ports – 6%

That's a really frustrating result. Just 7 systems, while the total effort delivered would have been enough for 11. -_-
If only people were willing to frickin coordinate, or at least think for 5 minutes which targets are the most urgent and which can wait.
Travel / transfer is part of the “issue” - at least for me. I don’t get a huge amount of game time so when I log on, it’s a question of which system I can get to in my AX combat ship. If I spent an hour flying back to where my other ships are, switching to a long range ship, jumping 150LY to the priority system and then transferring my AX ship over it would just kill 1/3 of my time.

For example, last week I ran a couple of sessions in Nihal on my first couple of evenings. But next session Nihal was already “won” and the next priority was in a different Maelstrom - so I ran some CZs in Namaya because I could actually get there straight away.

currently at Asher dock at holvandalla hopefully get on later. which is the best fight to go to to meet up? can't take intercepters on my own but will clear up scouts or can help with he big flowers if others are there too

I'm docked close and a jump away from the action @Holvandalla. I chose there cos it has a star port and it's easy for other to repair.

Didn't get on last night as I had to travel over and limited time. I hopefully should be around for smashing up some interceptors. I've changed up my loadout to swat some Scouts...

We have a quite good start; present outlook is around nine systems this cycle. HIPs 20492 and 22496 joined the fight last evening, Col 285 Sector AF-E b13-5 and Trianguli Sector GG-Y c18 joined overnight, and we have a spot of Alert progress in Neites. There is a notable eviction effort in Hyades Sector EQ-O b6-3, and a more modest eviction in Col 285 Sector JG-O c6-5, both empty systems.

Top targets at 09:10 13th January 3309:
Holvandalla Invasion + 5 ports – 30%
HIP 21380 Invasion + 1 port – 24%
HIP 11111 Invasion + 1 port – 18%
Yemaki Invasion + 2 ports – 18%
Chanyaya Invasion + 0 ports – 14%
Namayu Invasion + 2 ports – 14%
Vogulu Invasion + 5 ports – 14%

This is another great point, and an example of something which only presents a direct problem due to the weekly reset. While it behoves most Commanders to keep a travel starship nearby, short of using a Fleet Carrier of course, the weekly reset plus the immobility means the fight has to come to you or not at all. The Thargoid War Feedback thread is open right now for heaping criticism about the weekly reset, where I imagine it would be best if others take their turn.

In general for any Invasion, the best places can vary hour by hour. If you can get a good Starport defence going then that works very well, however if Commanders are actually using the facility there and preventing a fresh attack then I like to drop at Conflict zones. Even with only Scout-removal, if you can get a Conflict zone up to the stage of Interceptors arriving, that is a quite good moment to mention it in System chat. After all, pilots equipped to destroy Interceptors do not like using their precious ammunition on Scouts!

Exactly this - available time. I'm currently playing in Yamaki - because (a) it was closer to the last place I was at and (b) it has enough 'capacity' for me to play a couple of times before it gets 'filled'. If I have 1h to play, i don't really want to spend 40 mins of that jumping x times to get to the next hotspot.

I had commented about this to my friends a week ago. The targets are all over the place. Run to this maelstrom now run to that one.
At any rate, Seraph is parked near Indra and I have no plans to move it any time soon, so feel free to use its services. Bear in mind, I cannot know if anyone is on it when I do move it, but as I said, I don't plan to in the near future.

got my 1st interceptor kill.... AI didnt do much to the hearts but did distract it a little. in the low intensitu CZ near asher dock. in open but no body about.

only dissapointment was i had no cargo space to get my 1st thargoid heart.probably not on much longer now but hope to make it after lunch this afternoon

There will be more. About those hearts near planets. They do start falling so you'd have to swoop. If you wait for the corrosive cloud it may have already plopped to the ground.

Yeah, travel time is really a bitsh if you don't have a carrier. In the first few weeks of the war, I always tried to get to the hottest system, which often ate almost an hour of play time (first get there with your long range ship -- 10-15 mins; then transfer your AX ship(s) -- 35-40 mins). Paying for the transfer costs was still cheaper than carrier upkeep, though.
Then I changed my strategy and tried to pick one system to stay in for the entire cycle, which ofc requires some correct predictions. It worked for a while, then last week I focused on Chanyaya early on and it ultimately fell short.

So mb it's time to get a carrier after all.

pants....... i just had my 1st multiplayer thargoid session in open;. i may have missed some messages, if so sorry, they are a pig to read in vr as they dissapear so fast.

it seems i have a bounty for murder. normally police my fire ok but must have clipped a ship who then got killed . only 5000 c bounty (my 2nd biggest ever according to inara) but i cant repair now.... sigh. i guess i need to find an IF and wait to cool off....
hopefully it was not a CMDR who i clipped.

once again sorry if i missed a message.

I don't know why anyone gets their panties in a bundle over not seeing chat. Its the heat of action. The chat is poorly placed and hidden when not in use. I wouldn't want it center screen as that would clutter important visual information.
Don't worry too much about the bounty. It happens.

Also don't worry to much about what people feel a need to write in chat... :)

IMO, players should also turn off report crimes when they go to one of the war systems in open.

I found good system for my FC 1 jump away from both Yamaki and HIP 11111 - it is open too all with rearm, refuel, shipyard, outfitting, UC, Redemption, Adv Maint.

I tried 'Conda for AX Combat but way too slow so went back to Krait II - 4 EAXMC's + 1 standard MC so I can do several session AX Combat, then when I feel like Evac Wounded missions from port I have 128T space for pods (don't fill them all up if just Wounded, need Critically Wounded for lots) - I rely on boost speed when Interceptors turn up to SC (Scarper) away and then return to start on Scouts again, until ammo or Limpets run out, go to FC, return after break.

I can even redeem Combat Bonds at FC instead of going all way to Rescue Megaships with Wounded pods (seems to be -25% but I personally don't need more Cr - got 2 years FC upkeep on FC alone) just want the kills to count.

I am Remember The Cant in Cephei sector DQ-Y B4 - there are 21 FC's here so am sure some are open and we all have same idea, keep close enough for close AX Combat but not invaded (yet).
I will be there until at least Wednesday as at work until then.

Yeah, the other day i got a bounty and! 1 notoriety though I'm absolutely positive I didn't kill anyone. Mb it was bc I collided w another player in the mailslot (but he lived, we were in the same wing). So that basically benched me for 2h bc notoriety = no interstellar factor = wanted = no repairs. :/

not sure if there is any way to find out but AFAIK it was not a person I got the bounty for. but the whole bounty side of the game I am weak on so could be wrong (my character is a bit of a rule follower)

I did the same and went to a few ISF and couldn't pay it off, In the end I just handed myself in for the credits and flown back from the prison. It saved time !
