Exobiology with a fighter? How?Anaconda with the Fighter for 99% of time.
I use it for super hard things like mushrooms in mountains. Just fly on fighter and scan things on the ground. Canon plugin for EDMC automatically record each scan. Then land somewhere and EDMC will guide your walk / drive back to that scan-bookmark.Exobiology with a fighter? How?
Point is in such locations even small ship is hard to land. Furthermore, Anaconda / Dolphin usually lands but Phantom / Cobra not on the same spotThat sounds very tedious. Using the SLF to scout bio location, return to big ship, land somewhere suitable for big ship, exit ship, hike into mountains, find location, scan sample, return. Then repeat. If it works for you:![]()
Problem with it is jump range. Carrier jumps 500 ly, Anaconda follows in 7 jumps and still then it takes 2-3 hours per 500 ly because of those bio signals. With small ship it will be 14 jumps = insane more of bio signals. Scanning everything is cool, except it has not sense at 400 billions stars scale. So there is only 1 sense - move somewhere to the target doing best on the route. 7 jumps of ship per 1 carrier jump is enough for my temper. For fits & giggles you should try a small ship.
Ye, all is ok, except chances are the same for anything to find at any given place. So yeh you will find exactly the same - moving or not. But when you move at least imagination helps to remove boredom.Whatever you like for playstyle is cool. If your objective is to be travelling best possible distances all the time that's certainly how you do it. If your objetive is to explore surrounding systems, find cool planets, maybe some floating weird stuff, some exobiology, blah blah blah, then a carrier enables you to switch to more specialized ships.
My favorite ship for that is....the Sidewinder. Can fit all that is needed, has the smallest possible landing footprint and excellent visibility even for those hard to spot Tussock.
