Update 14.02 Now Live!

When will we be able to transfer our account from xbox to PC? I have been waiting for a while and saw that this patch added that back but it still says the portal is closed why is that??

Thank you especially for fixing the [labelfield] error!

To all the devs at Frontier, I know the community can complain a lot about problems in the game. I've been guilty of it too. Just remember we wouldn't be so if we didn't love the fruits of your labor so much. Thanks for the much-needed patches, and thanks for all you do.
 
Hey Bruce! I was wondering if there is any more news on the console transfer system coming back! I finally got a PC for Christmas and have been waiting for it to return!
 
To any VR users (and @Malic, you might be interested in this) the severe flickering shadows introduced in Update 12 has now been marked as “fixed” - but this is not the case for VR players.

Looks like we have to jump through the Issue Tracker hoops once more, so I request players to add to this report:

No mention of a fix for the side panel showing rank update for Exobiology mentioned in the update notes. Has it been stealth fixed?

Just checked. No fix.
Guess it’s time to take a break from ED until the over excitement, over the Thargoids by the Devs die down and they can finally fix bugs the created by the 14.0 update.

First I want to apologize for my initial post related to missions in the Thargoid war area a few pages back. With years of BGS experience I should know better and be more patient and wait at least for Tick to be more confident whether announced changes (for 14.02) related to missions works or not. Not mentioning that I forget use my own rule to not post in forums in a bad mod and wait till next day for colder head state. Sorry :(

As second thing there is just my suggestion to add into next update patch-notes a note that some of changes may need time to be fully deployed.
 
I just noticed that not only was the 50m credit reward for missions removed, but you can get up to 10 materials as a mission reward too this is great and something I suggested in the engineering feedback thread and I'm glad was implemented in a roundabout way due to the wing interceptor kill missions being too unrewarding otherwise.
 
the auto land bug is still problematic, some ships are still refusing to land, others are not even attempting to land and leave there commanders on the ground, it not a Biggy but it can get very annoying when you cough have a notoriety level of 10 :).

also the wing team seems to be a problem with friends online .they don't show up in game nor does they invites to wing with them

Another thing that wasn't in the patch notes is this issue https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/44632 which has been in the game since Odyssey launched, I've just noticed has been fixed in this update.

It may seem like a small thing, but I wonder how many other "small things" were fixed in the update that we might not know about. It would be very handy if the teams could pass on all the changes to the CM team so the patch notes reflect what has been updated.
 
Possibly vertical scroll bars on the map info windows was added for the new extra thargoid war information and that fix was just a nice unintended side-effect.

Edit: I'm sorry, I misunderstood which issue you were attempting to highlight...
 
A few issues:

  • Went to a system in recovery (Yemaki) - no Restore missions, despite having 4 abandoned Odyssey settlements. (Those settlements do have other missions, which I think are impossible as the settlements are abandoned). Used Power Regs to bring all 4 settlements online but the system status 12 hours later still has not moved (it was 1W 1D to completion, is now 1W to completion).
  • Abandoned settlements don't allow autodock, so no Apex if these missions do show up I guess .. a bit sad but I will live :)
  • Salvage: There are now Unoccuppied Escape Pods in the salvage (don't recall them before?). Would be nice if we could hand them in for refurbishment at S&R.
  • Patch Notes talked about being able to hand in Tissue Samples as Salvage - the Rescue Ships don't have a Science contact, and the market has no Demand, so I guess this got dropped? If not, 2000 credits isn't very lucrative ..

  • Plus, as ever, Tissue Sampling is broken and only works 50% of the time
  • Salvage in general - how much does this help can you tell us? With the added overhead of multiple supercruises between USS plus a trip to a rescue ship I don't see any way this would be worthwhile compared to just doing AZ CZ unless the effect on the war is massive (and at 2k per Escape Pod this doesn't seem likely)

Otherwise great fun fighting in the CZ! (y)
