Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

"I COULD MURDER A CURRY" said Death.
U could try the station, but if the bar has no beer... then i guess a curry is out of the question?

No reported satellite dish problems prior to 1957.

Hmm... the aerial looks good too...

Splashed ARX on the new suit and a Hazard kit for my AspX. I'm now on a planet with 9 bio's, which is nice.

I was trying to get a nice shot of this combo but I waved at my ship, which I'd forgotten about :D

I wanted to take a pic saluting the guards... but i've forgotten where the emoji wheel is - think i just turned it off after the last time it locked up & got me deaded ;p

The sunrise was nice though... :]

Unable to play at the moment owing to an arthritis attack in the wrist infection in entire forearm 😭, so been going back through my photo archive and will now proceed to bore everyone with a few choice shots...

Oo-er, missus!

Slengie NJ-X d2-7 in Norma Expanse - system with 40 bios. I managed to get 36 of them in the end but was quite lucky in that most of them were pretty much in the same area on each moon.

This system will be my last hurrah I think for Norma Expanse on this trip as my next carrier jump should take me to Inner Orion Spur on the way back to Bubbleland. 9 jumps to the carrier from here, so it's still possible there will be more bios on the way there I guess.

The only thing I hate about the AspX is I can't enter the front with the SRV. If it weren't for that, I'd be using it rather than the Phantom as the AspX has, in my humble opinion, the best cockpit view in the game.

Even with that SRV limitation, I still use it from time to time.

system with 40 bios.
What you have to remember is that the vast majority of them will be duplicates. You can still get money for them, but not the codex if there was one. That's where the Elite Observatory comes in so handy: you can keep track of what you've sampled already and got the codex for and not waste time looking for that particular biologic again in the same system.

That's true - most of them WERE duplicates and I only got a few Codex, but the really big rewards seem to be when you present it to Vista and you get a huge bonus for "First to log," which seems to be first to log on each body. So even if you find the same Bacterium on each one, it looks like you still get a first to log bonus for each one. Of course, if another commander goes to that same system after me, he/she will not get Codex or first logs as I've already grabbed all that. :p

But anyway - Ooops - I just counted them again and that system wasn't 40 bios but "only" 36. And the number I managed to find was 32. But then I never was much good at bean counting and never wanted to be an accountant!

Spoken like a true chartered accountant. ;)

I've arrived back at the carrier now and did take what I thought was a screenshot of the payment I got in my carrier Vista, following my exploration of the systems around the carrier that I started yesterday morning. Unfortunately my print screen (I don't use the built-in ED screenshot thingy) didn't put it in my cache so I don't have a screenshot. Anyway, I got 798 million odd, most of which was from that 36 bio system I mentioned.
