When I get back to the carrier after searching for salad in local systems, I've been plotting the next carrier jump from the ship before disembarking and going to Vista to sell the latest data, then heading for the commander's seat.

I did this just now but when I sold my data to Vista this time, after I had redeemed the basic tariffs a message came up saying "escorted from service due suspended" (or something like that) and this was before I had been able to click again to get all the "First to Log" bonuses. My bio data now shows zero and I think I lost about 200 million in first log bonuses because of that.

So looks like it's best to either wait until the next jump is completed before going to Vista, or go there first and plot the next carrier jump afterwards...

Are the credits and/or exo data still missing after a relog - might just be a chance they’re still there somewhere? Also mebbe check your game log - see if the exo hand-in actually registered…

…i’ve lost mine a few times, from unwisely deciding trying to nab a pirate bounty with light exploration ship to just being distracted / afk long enough to asphyxiate - so tend to hand in as soon as i dock anywhere, typically my FC when out doing exobiology trips.

I've had that happen once as I tried to enter Vista Genomics on my carrier. I "appeared" right back in the hall before the sliding doors that lead to that area. I thought, "what" and tried again and it went seamlessly.

If you had that happen right when you dropped off data and lost it all, I'd wait an hour or so and relog. If it doesn't appear by then I'd file a ticket.

Thanks for the info - credits still missing. Checked game log but can't see anything about exo hand-in registering...

I waited for quite a bit longer than an hour and logged back in but as I just mentioned, still no credits showing. That said, it's possible I miscalculated what my credit balance was before I tried submitting to Vista and it's possible I didn't lose the bonuses after all. Or maybe I did, not sure.

Whatever, I won't bother sending in a ticket this time though in case I'm wrong. I'll just learn my lesson, take my medicine and make sure I don't submit anything to VIsta while a carrier jump is in progress, even one that I only just plotted a few seconds ago. I'll do the Vista and Cartographics biz first, then plot the jump afterwards!

If you run EDDiscovery you can filter transactions by date which can let you know what has happened.

Thanks and yes I've had that app for a few months now and really like it. I just had a quick check of the history on there and was all today so didn't need to filter. but so far I haven't found the entry but I'll check it again later.

Anyway I'm almost back at the bubble now after my lengthy trip out to Norma Expanse via Hawking's Gap. Next stop is good old Deciat, where my carrier can at last be in the company of lots of other carriers, instead of being lonely out in the black with no fellow carriers to talk to.

The parking there might be a bit iffy though...

At Deciat my carrier can join in the conversation with the other carriers and have quite a few good laughs about the good old days when there was that problem with setting which body in a system to jump to! That bug has sadly now been fixed of course but at least there is still the highly confusing and nonsensical system of having to to refill the fuel tank (known as the "tritium depot" to make things even more mystifying) by having to use use a ship to transfer the tritium to first, then back to the carrier, instead of simply transferring direct from the carrier cargo hold to its own fuel tank.

So at least there is that for the carrier community to have plenty of lols about, with noob carrier owners like me scratching their heads and having to ask questions about it in the forum. :sneaky:

I had Osseus Fractus for lunch today. Views like this is why I appreciate the addition of Exobiology to the game. I'll never spend the credits it earns. The rank progress started moving on Exobiology again a while ago, so I should soon get promoted from Cataloger.

Just add bacon, sausages, tomatoes fried bread, eggs, black pudding, chips, beans, hash browns, kippers and a large pot of tea.

Today I ran across 3 types of bio that I had not yet logged, all of them on the same planet. I have seen other versions of them, but not these particular ones.

A new type of Cactoida (Cortexum):

A new type of Fungoida (Stabitis):

I also found a system with 4 terraformable HMCs, and another with a terraformable Water World and another HMC.

:)
