Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Found another moon with 5 biosigns, when I was 200 meters off the deck the power went out. We are having wind gusts up to 70Mph, trees are coming down, my wife inherited this house from her parents so we moved down out of the snow from the Sierra's, I brought my whole house generator with me and it's purring away outside now.

I'm hoping my ship will be in orbit when I log back in, glad I dumped all that data.

Whew...I thought you were gonna say that your ship crashed into the ground without power...

I know this feeling. And since even micro-outages are a thing around here that killed my last PC, I went and got me some UPS, one for my computer and one for the router, as they stand in different rooms. Provides me with enough power to safely land my ship, log off and shut down the computer*. And on top of that, it protects me from any other curveballs the electrical system could throw at me, as it severs the direct connection between the power grid and the computer.

*: Although, with this laptop, there might even be an hour of play time in the realm of possibilities.

I need to git gud. That last high CZ killed me half-a-dozen times :(

Going tank on the enemy doesn't cut it. More evasion techniques required. I'm still a lowly orange belt while they're all at least 2nd dan black belts. In kevlar.
Are you meant to be able to solo an on foot high CZ, even with fully engineered guns and suit?
Maybe they are meant to be played with team mates.

I solo and win High ground CZs with G3 gear, sometimes I die a few times in the process and sometimes I don't die even once.

Though I have noticed lately that playing them with team mates appears to increase the difficulty a few notches...I've also noticed that with space CZs as well...

Heck, even I can solo them. It's not really that hard. You only die if you do dumb stuff or get over-aggressive.
I do find them difficult personally. But that's because I haven't done enough and my skills are lacking :D

I find mediums a bit too easy though. I don't do lows anymore unless I'm in an easy mode on mood.
I couldn't even beat the tutorial.
Try a few low CZs to start. That's what I did. They don't use grenades too much and their shields/suits seem bottom-of-the-line. What also helped me is scavs at power ons. All of the above help you learn how the move, avoid and attack.

Upgrades are good too :D

You can't get upgrades though. That's the problem. After well over a hundred reboot / kill scavenger / retrieve item missions and looking everywhere I could to trade or buy them, I still don't have the materials for one single mod on anything. That's why I gave up on it.
What stuff are you missing? Maybe we can point you in the right direction.

One thing we can't help with is time. Every upgrade needs a grind I'm afraid. Although, of course, you can always go with no upgrades and just use pre-upgraded gear

I wonder if this is filmed with the ingame camera limpet or if there is some hidden feature like in STO that enables you to create stunning flybys and such...
I think it's just the external camera suite, but he's becoming quite the master of it... :]

Must check my setup in more detail... i can't seem to get mine to do really slow/smooth horizontal tracking / "dolly" shots (ie: strafing L/R) ...then again, i've generally been using the camera suite for faster / less predictable stuff, like to shoot Thargoid live action... ;]

Yep i think they do adjust difficulty somewhat - even when i go in solo and see the difference between their response to my suit/weapons loadout, ie: if i use a Dom with AR-50/Aphelion, they will have plenty of that & rockets... if i have rockets, they will have even more... if i go in with Executioner & Tormentor, they will also be more snipey...
