Summary
System: Duamta
Station: Orunmilla (Megaship, large pads available, 693 Ls from main star, 9.88 Ly from Sol)
Objective: Deliver Advanced Catalysers, Heatsink Interlinks and Palladium
Time limit: 2nd March 3309 @ 07:00 UTC

Description
Deliveries have been requested in Duamta to fast-track production of a module that improves ship survivability in caustic environments.
Professor Alba Tesreau, the head of Aegis, provided these details:
We are grateful to Aden Tanner for personally testing our prototype caustic sink launcher. The electrochemical reaction within the Maelstrom cloud was successfully channelled into semi-liquid anodes for ejection. This kept the ship hull intact for considerably longer before Tanner was forced to withdraw.

Aegis is setting up manufacturing and distribution centres to make the caustic sink launcher widely available. The Alliance, Empire and Federation will all contribute, but we know that the process can be accelerated with the direct support of the galactic community.

Therefore, we have an open order for shipments of advanced catalysers, heatsink interlinks and palladium. We also require caustic tissue samples obtained from the caustic generators that can be found inside the Maelstrom clouds. I urge pilots to exercise caution as these are highly dangerous to obtain, but crucial to the modules’ manufacturing process.
Pilots can deliver these resources to the Orunmilla in the Duamta system. Aegis confirmed that as well as the caustic sink launcher being made available at technology brokers, the initial batch of modules will be distributed for free at higher tiers based on individual contribution levels:

Tier 2:
  • Top 25% will receive 1 Caustic Sink Launcher
Tier 3:
  • Top 25% will receive 2 Caustic Sink Launchers
  • Top 50% will receive 1 Caustic Sink Launcher
These rewards will be placed in storage at the Orunmilla.
The campaign will run until the 2nd of March 3309. If the final target is met earlier than planned the campaign will end immediately.
To earn rewards you must sign up as an active participant before delivering Advanced Catalysers, Heatsink Interlinks and Palladium to the Orunmilla in the Dumata system.
Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.
Notes:
  • Orunmilla is orbiting planet 5
  • Megaship services: Commodities Market, Blackmarket, Outfitting, Repair, Restock, Refuel
  • Prices at Chariot of Rhea:
    • Advanced Catalysers: 12,156 Cr/Unit
    • Heatsink Interlinks: 8,400 Cr/Unit
    • Palladium: 202,556 Cr/Unit
    • Caustic Tissue Sample: 270,720 Cr/Unit

final tier target is 52 million...
If the trading groups find out about the palladium price they may kill the supply very quickly...

Just a little repost of some useful stuff.
This is concerning this CG but could be applied on any CG event, if set correctly.

How about FDevs Stop doing nonsense with % they cannot bother to manage and just do a deliver limit to get CG stuff rewards?

Like for this event it could be as follows :
Reward Level
Reward
Threshold
Tier 6, Top 10 CMDRs
Massive cash reward & bonus (naming/tag/skin etc...)10 best CMDRs
Top 10 CMDRs Tier 5
1 Caustic Sink Launcher8000
Top 10% Tier 4
1 Caustic Sink Launcher4000
Top 25% Tier 3
1 Caustic Sink Launcher2000
Top 50% Tier 2
1 Caustic Sink Launcher1000
Top 75% Tier 1
Cash+250
Top 100% Base Reward
Basic Cash1

Reward being as usual Cumulative, with 8000 units delivered you'd get multiple Caustic Sink Launchers.
Threshold here is an example, but seems fair enough for this event.

Just remove this % nonsense that just make most of the community not even bothering participate as this will be just dumb relog "official" mechanics ... (and please don't tell me 4000 player is the whole community 😑)

This is designed to have a real fail chance and to restrict the items. its not a free be gift...
1 its Aegis core so support will be low...
2 Tier 1 is a high tonnage level its not an instant enable item 1mill... its around ~13mill, tier 2 is 26 million tier 3 is 52 million
3 There are only 3 tiers... so the tier 3 is 52mill target...

This has a real failure chance and a low hand out...

Isn't it a little bit like sabotage? To distract many of us away from the war? Who will defend attacked systems? NPC Ax Pilots? They're good for chatting only!
Like, trillions of people in the bubble, all the superpowers, powers, mega corporations, super institutions, all the engineers and scientists - they can't produce
10000 caustic sinks without our help?

HI Cmdrs

not the biggest "probing expert" here. but i just tried to use the research limpet on one of the caustic generators, but the limpet controller said "invalid target", and as i was fairly close to get a sensor reading, the generator went boom. am i missing something?

edit:
NVM...
"
After you use the Xeno Scanner, you will then be able to target a docking port via the CONTACTS tab on your ships left panel (same as targeting a ship's sub-system).
Target that port and launch a research limpet at it."

Na if the supplies had been alot higher the traders would have diverted from there 56k per ton profit repair station routes and picked up the cargo for 140k profit per ton...
Aegis stated they dont need us in galnet... they have opened optional paying for supplies to us to accelerate production... so this CG can fail and it will still release...

“Aegis is setting up manufacturing and distribution centres to make the caustic sink launcher widely available. The Alliance, Empire and Federation will all contribute, but we know that the process can be accelerated with the direct support of the galactic community.”

Binding a key for next or previous subtarget can be quicker/easier than using the left panel (and the extended range xeno-scanner is practically mandatory to do the scan without detonating the generator).

They give over a quarter of a million profit, I'd say that's good enough.
i just made 6,5 mil in an fly by shooting. The amount of hassle for that sample stands in no reasonable relation to the payout. Was it fun? A litlle. But omg, to fill even a sinlge 4c resistant cargo rack will take hours. the simulated "wind" effect inside the maelstrom is particularly annoying.

So no, either pay 15 mil for a single sample, or make it count for i dunno, 1000 units?
I can get u a 1000 units in about 20mins while sipping drinks.

Here it is!
Time to get that Maelstrom McGuffin module up and running.

Related:
The commodities filter in Galaxy map has been borked for a while now. Set a specific commodity and then click away and it resets, target a system with a commodity to buy/sell and if you click through the stations in that system the commodity price stays frozen on the first station's pricing, and other issues etc.
Would be nice to be able to use in-game tools if we have them.

Money is no object in CGs, tbh... contribution to the community goal is the key outcome here, but that aside, profit margin on Palladium is 150k a tonne. I can ship 600t of Palladium (for 90m profit) much faster (orders of magnitude faster) than the time it takes to get 360 caustic tissue samples which has the same net profit margin, but a significantly lower contribution point contribution, and drastically lower net contribution... even if you were running, say, 10 research limpets at once, and ignore what that does to your cargo capacity and the time it takes you to run back and forth dropping off those samples, all of which would blow that effort out of proportion, you're still looking at roughly... 50 minutes? an hour? to get that many... but realistically I'd double-triple that timeframe.

A highly conservative run of palladium in a cutter for this CG would be about 4 runs in the same amount of time (an hour).

So we've got:
  • Contribute 2400t and earn 360m profit on Palladium; or
  • Contribute 360t and earn 90m profit for samples.

There's no contest. But FD always makes this mistake. It's a dumb way to run these CGs.

EDIT: Note as well, varying contribution is not without precedent; like when scan reports were collected for a CG, but ammonia worlds (which are one of the most valuable) also netted 3 times the CG contribution.

Do you guys think the cost of the caustic sink will be more like the FSD V1 (~100 materials) or the Sirius heat sink (smaller mix of materials and commodities)?
