I can't say I've ever heard of any ethical groups raise concern about sea turtles in aquariums. Polar bears join the same amount of ethical awareness as elephants , as elephants in semi realistic group sizes need like 10,000m2 at the minimum. I always ignore the people who complain about animals needing so much space, don't have the space? Don't house said animalThey live in massive oceans so theyd probably have the large sized habitat like polar bears to be realistic. Probably not as large but still. Their an animal that needs space to swim.
Looking at sea turtles specifically, the amount of space you give grey seals or sea lions is ample room for a sea turtle to live comfortably.
