The enhanced scanner has a range of 2km, that should be plenty to avoid triggering it? Otherwise pay close attention to the lights on its edges and your ship's temperature, the faster they flash the closer they are to detonating (based on how well they are sensing you which is a combination of heat and distance).
Thanks for the tip re: the flashing lights. The issue seems to be that it's pretty upset with me by the time I get close enough to even target it, and then because it keeps moving it's easy to stray too close while trying to get a scan to complete. Should I just be heat-sinking the whole time?

I just blast caustic generators in a malestrom then pickup whaever materials they drop with collector limpets. As for seeing what is around a pulse wave analyzer lights up everything so I can set a safe approach to take out a generator.

As for Inara the CG completion is currently two hours ahead of the Thursday maintenance tic but only shows players sending data to Inara. Still contributors went up 50 players in the last hour. We'll see.

Heatsinks with a combination of silent running, or a ship that is engineered to be naturally cold like a dolphin or krait mk2.

I noticed on Inara that the minimum amount to be a top ten CMDR was 74.000. Then it suddenly dropped to 61,000. Is that possible? It’s been stuck at that amount for 3 hours. A bug???
The inara numbers are rough estimations made with the data of the commander sharing their info to inara. More data, more accurate numbers, but it´s always a estimation because Inara can´t know how much contributed the commanders that don´t use inara.

The Golconda one last year was over in (probably) record time, due to the insane profits on tritium. Lots of new fleet carrier owners out of that one!

I was fairly new to the game and had just bought my first Cutter a couple of days before this CG started. I had buyer's remorse and was mulling if it was worth it and how long it would take to recoup the cost - answers turned out to be yes and a couple of hours ;)

I don't understand this. Inara has been saying we won't complete it. I still can't see us getting beyond 90%, more likely 85ish.
Did you have stale data in your browser?

The latest refresh says we are two hours ahead of the Thursday tic but it is always changing per averaging versus exact. Anyway we can hope Inara is close.

The latest refresh its at 10:38? 82% completion in 20h

FDev told earlier its not an exploit. But yes its a strange way / an alternative solution if resources are low (this method is first used by some Colonia players mostly for picking up tritium at the last Colonia Bridge station and then selling it to other players from their carriers).
Frankly, I think FDev has got that completely and utterly wrong... but when a fix Outbreak Massacres is still outstanding umpteen years later, I have no confidence of this one ever being assessed correctly, let alone fixed.

Washing things through the secure storage to make them clean for use? Fine.

But the rule for missions is: anything that leaves the source cargo depot and doesn't make it to the destination depot will accrue a fine. It literally says this in a message when you fail to shift everything for a mission under any other circumstance. So regardless of how you wash it through the secure storage, that equation where you are fined for the cargo that does not make it to the destination depot is not satisfied... that's clearly broken.

It's impossible to read the below:

And suggest that, without an appeal to authority fallacy, washing the cargo through the secure storage should invalidate that mission condition.

I would happily wager that whatever FDev rep said this was OK misread the issue and was stating that having the cargo come out "legal" on the other side was ok. The fact this seems to work for Wing missions but not Solo missions smells of oversight, considering there's numerous other inconsistencies between wing/non-wing missions. And when you start to look closer at the mechanics of wing missions through a critical lens, it reeks of oversight.

But whatever... if I was obnoxious enough to tag CMs in my posts I'd probably get accused of being the fun police... who'd've thought bugreports could be griefing right?

Whilst I am also intrigued by the “handwavium” explanation for how these things work “in real life”, I’m more intrigued by how they will work from a “game” perspective.

I mean, they have to be “better” than decontamination limpets in some way, right?

And they kinda have to better than “overheat + heatsink” as well since they take up a utility slot?

But if you lose a utility slot and still have to carry limpets for repairs … I‘m not sure where these will fit in?
I was wondering the exact same thing.

did my part too, in total i ferried about 70k tons
And amazingly, even that isn't enough for a top-10 spot...

Well, the clearest indication of all that a bug is involved is that (for wing missions) you get a fine for taking almost all of the cargo, but no fine at all if you do take all of it.
I'm cool with it being non-exploity if they fix the fines but yeah that's probably not a high-priority fix for anyone and since there are dozens of high-priority breakages that have been that way for literally years...

The rewards are a bit anticlimatic
i would have given a sink for top75% (tier 1), one for top50% (tier 2) and one for top25% (tier 3) - not my call tho 🤷‍♂️

I'm still optimistic making tier 3. and per Inara time most players show up in about 90 minutes from now. Then hopefully with another hundred Cutters and Type-9s we'll see if we can pull this off. Maybe not but go Solo and max it out. The estimated completion time is going down.

The estimated completion time is going down.
Indeed, but it always does at this time of day. I guess the averaging used to estimate the rate is not over a very long period (a few hours perhaps).
I do love your optimism but even if we do as well as we were doing on the best days (Fri/Sat/Sun) we still won't even reach 90% now ;) To reach 100% we'd have to more than double the rate we achieved at the weekend... (We'll be short by very roughly 250 heavily loaded carriers :))
