Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Yes I wondered about that! I have come across some very tiny blue areas before that were still just visible, but any smaller than that wouldn't be big enough to contain a single plant, never mind a complete set of three with a 150 meter distance requirement as is the case with Conchas. :sneaky:
I don’t think there is any requirement for all three samples to be in the same patch of blue.

Have you started doing any? For me, it was like a drug; once started, very hard to stop and always looking for my next fix

Jusy say no!

And I've just done two more medium CZ's. I really need to step up a bit and do highs. I'll never rank up otherwise and progress in this discipline is even worse than mining tritium...
No, I never did try any in Colonia and haven't spent much time in the bubble, just to do engineering stuff. But I did look at what was needed to upgrade suits and weapons and I'm assuming that some could be gathered/stole from settlements either during a mission or otherwise and rewards for completing missions. I'm sure I'm wrong though.

I think I remember you going out to Colonia last summer or fall and not liking the CZ's you found out there, so if I did even try one it would be in the bubble. I need to get back there anyway because I screwed up my blueprint pinning and finish rolling the rest of the other BP's now that I have the mats, also fine tune the experimental effects. I only have 3 ships of which 2 are engineered.

And with that being said, I don't consider myself a rookie so much now (there will always be more to learn).
That's about 5k hours more than what I have under my belt...
I can't wrap my head around the second one, what exactly is it? Nice screenies though.
The second one is looking up from the bottom of a deep*, narrow canyon**, looking at the parent gas giant while the star and some of the other planets of the system are lined up neatly in the background, slightly left of the gas giant. I parked my Cobra there for the night. But this is not a place where you would want to send your ship away...

*: At least 300m, most likely even more, and about 90m wide (these are guesstimations based on my navigating inside)
**: If Luke had trained in such a canyon, he would have done the Death Star trench run in a CR90 Corellian Corvette...

Doing a bootleg liquet mission I found a wrecked SRV and two wrecked skimmers. I got the cutter out to cut open the maintenance panels. When the panel fell away another seemed to be underneath I could not cut on all the panels at the site.
I seem to remember having the issue a whole ago and it's still not fixed...

These sometimes have SDP’s in the skimmer maintenance panels - i hope this is bad luck / a bug …and not a cruel joke by a programmer with a “sense of humour” ;p

As for me calling that a CG, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck..... I called it that for lack of a better word and don't think I need to defend it,
Ok, I understand what you meant.

I just found it odd to call the increased payouts a CG, since a CG is a Community Goal, and runs for a limited time, and you have to interact with the stations mentioned in the CG to have any effect.

Our payouts in the black don't contribute to any CGs, so it just seemed like you didn't understand the term.

Sorry for any confusion there.

I've been thinking about this, to me the only difference is turning your data in on a megaship as opposed to turning it in everywhere. The Thargoids are attacking the bubble, which it and the surrounding area is the most heavily explored places in the game, why the CG then? They already have that data on Ammonia worlds, color me stupid (as usual).

Tbh the only point in structuring the CG this way seems to be to lure explorers back to the battlefront area… any takers?

I just double-checked and there is another CG I wasn't aware of. For this one, the rewards are increased payouts for all Cartographics, for 1-4 weeks depending on how far the CG gets.

But those payouts won't take effect until the CG ends. Interesting reward, though.

When did that one start? I agree, interesting.
Yeah, none of the "exploration" CGs make a lot of sense. It just gives folks something to do.
Maybe their watching this thread. :)

Inara has a CG page that keeps track of them, and shows participation and current tier level, etc. I guess this one started a few days ago.
