Yeah, sorry, should've indicated that I did indeed sign-up prior to submitting the data. But you may be on the right track, as I assume I'm doing something incorrectly.

EDIT: IQ test failed. As I read in the CG - "Universal Cartographics has announced a two-week initiative to locate planets with ammonia atmospheres." I proceeded to search Inara for any planet type with an ammonia atmosphere, failing to search for "Ammonia world" in the Planet type drop-down box, as is indicated in the CG right there in the title!. Once the correct planet type was entered, credit was received for data acquired. Sorry - a little slow on the uptake there.

Oh my, this 4x payout is insane! Was just finishing a deep space exploration tour, when they announced the CG and had infos of 500 systems in my backpack worth 600 Millions. Made 2.4 billion instead and went from Pioneer straight to Elite 1!

So to be clear, Odyssey style planets with even 100% Ammonia Atmospheres are NOT counting to this CG???

If so, that’s super disappointing and dumb. And pretty much rules out the chance of this CG being a gentle fdev prod to Players to find whatever we apparently haven’t found yet.

Sounds like your IQ was too HIGH for this CG.

It looks as if the focus is on planet composition as a whole, opposed to just the atmosphere. I do know that I only got credit for planets after I changed the search parameter in Inara from "Atmosphere: Ammonia" to "Planet type: Ammonia world"

Pro Tip:

If you can't survive a thargoid encounter ... either take a ship that can or turn in your data regularly.

I used Spansh to plot a 100 Ammonia world route ... got through about 80 of them in the last two days. Then a thargoid caught and killled me before I could turn in the data ... Sigh.

Some people understand the storylines and how they work better, and can place bets on what's to come. And sometimes, it works out in the end.

I already had scanned dozens of ammonia worlds and ammonia life gas giants when the maelstroms arrived. Didn't wait long enough and sold the data eventually. When the CG was leaked, I invested an evening into getting to 102 points, and delivered shortly after it went online.

I now have approx. 15 hours in the cg on the clock, I have found 4 via codex and 3 or 4 ammonia worlds in myself. it doesn't make sense to me how so few participants have already found such a large number.

That's because nobody is "finding" anything.
The CG is about updating the AW database, so people are using databases to check for AWs.

so basicaly, they should change CG type from [exploration] into [scann world seen by 1049101 other players before your visit] XD.

If someone is curious, I prepared something, by using sheet with list of ALL discovered ammonia worlds, and amount of discovered stars different types.

No, don't ask me what happened with Herbig stars. I also don't understand, why average sample of 1000 AeBe stars can have nearly 40 ammonias. If course it is simple planets:1000 stars ratio, so a lot of ammonias can be generated by pairs or groups of different star types.
Oh, and in last week I discovered whole 14 ammonias. "some" difference between explorationand spansh tourism

(no offence, frontier made bad CG, simple, it is their fault).

So you only obtain 600Millions in exploration rank, instead the 2.4B enough to Elite V (and even more).

You just give up, drop the heat sink, and fly away, even on a slow ship. Thargoids can't see cold targets.

P.S. I wonder how they can only see hot targets if they come from amic worlds... but that's another story.

I sure hope that lots of players are out on exploration trips, getting lots of AW’s, and are going to dump LOADS of scans into the CG soon. We aren’t even at tier 1 yet.

There are around 10 days left to run as well, if you finish it too early all those explorers out there will be complaining about not be able to take part.

Indeed the bonus credits does not affect exploration ranking.
Still, extra credits are extra credits, no one should complain

I would not put any trust in those predictions this time, because this isn't the type of CG where people regularly return to the station to turn in their contribution. I guess we will get quite a few big dumps towards the end of the CG.
