AFAIK, he's staying at Frontier though..
It would be a golden opportunity to deflate and reset the economy too!
By the time that happens I'll have stashed so much away on my carrier I will be able to run the economy myself!

Even my game time (I don't sit on the launcher) over 4 accounts exceeds 7,000 hours since 2017.
Naturally, the OP's comment about others with these hours might be taken with a pinch of salt, but is entirely possible.

Yet it is more than probable.
I have 8000+ spread over 3 accounts since november 2018, i have a fulltime+ job and get enough fresh air too.
However, ED is the game that gets almost all my gaming time - in 4.5 years i spend about 1-2 months playing MW5 and less than a month in other 2 games.

Admittedly rather a lot spent in supercuise or driving the SRV. (Still haven't mastered flying, more crashing over an extended distance)

Well I have only about 5,000 - 6,000 hours which could have been achieved with just over 2 hours play per day since I got the game in 2016, in reality it is more complex than that as I have had days or even weeks when I didn’t play as well as much longer sessions at times. FYI: I've been playing since mid-2014 and have 12840 hours on my main account. It's not that difficult with ED if you have the time.
Nah. Looking at steam chart and if Frontier dont bring rean new gameplay with the mext updaye but only new scenarios with existing gameplay mechanics like with update 14 the game will be abandoned long before your doom scenario.
It would certainly help if there are features in U15 beyond those connected with ‘the narrative’, the only people who know aren’t saying (yet).
If Fdev didn't bring in any more gameplay ever, but kept the servers running i would still be here, exploring.

I really dont get why its always bad when something old/established dies or gets replaced.
There is a lot of potential story wise to kill the bubble and the remnants of humanity scattered over the galaaxy struggling to survive another day.
If done right it could be an epic journey alongside maybe the opportunity to do some settling rebuilding ourselfes besides filling up another bar doing repetitive stuff all the time...

Out of curiosity, how are people calculating this? You extrapolating from the months/weeks/blah/blah given in the Codex?
