Game Discussions Kerbal Space Program 2 - Early Access launches today

No idea, but it should take some time.
It's a buggy mess right now, but I managed to land a three Kerbal lander on Mun and just returned them, all bugs nonwithstanding.
But anyone who is infuriated by FD's releases should wait a few days buying KSP2, it's quite similar 🤭

That was excellent. Nice music. I'm not educated on KSP. Are those planet scenes from gameplay ?
Can you jump into the game and start building any size ships are do you have to play lots of hours to afford pieces and parts ?

I looked at the first game a little when it came out but chose other space games to play, thus I don't know much about KSP.
GL HF and a nice weekend to all

No end date for Early Access. Very poor perfomance on EA release. 50$ for Early Access. - lots of Red Flags for EA game for me.
I'll watch from the side, and see how it will develop over the years.

Campaign with credi for parts and science for unlocks. I's about overcoming the gravity and accomplish a mission and return. The larger you build, the more fuel and power you need to get it to orbit. And the bigger they are the harder they control.
You could launch parts to space, dock them, strap them together and then sail with that contraption, but from ground you have a hard time lifting huge stuff to orbit unless dyou mod it or use exploits.ü

Quite disappointed so far that they re-used the same glitchy physics engine (KSP1 needed a lot of modding to get it right) from Unity - and also Unity 3D that has a really poor performance and optimization. Same issues from early stock KSP1 just repeat, with the exact same results (noodle rockets, jittery surface contacts, spinny parachute ropes, the Kraken, etc.). Also KSP1 with Scatterer/EVE/Parallax looks better than stock KSP2..

On the plus side, mods will be coming in and fix most of this (still, stock game should not need these fixes), and Nertea's mods (which are all great) are included in stock game now as he's now part of the official dev team.

So, in the news today, mass layoffs at Private Division, including the technical director for KSP 2.
It's just sad, after everything we have been through with ED:Odyssey, people still fall for the same old tricks. Even famouse ED youtuber still giving this game a free pass instead of giving it a honest review it deserves. If the price wasn't so high, might have passed it as Work-in-Progress Alpha, but they knew what they were releasing and still demanded full game price. Money scam through and through.

If you pay for EARLY ACCESS.. You get early access. Dont be upset. Let people waste their money as they like.
No, that's the typical excuse we heard for a decade now. I still own a game on Steam that has been in EA since 2016, called Stellar Tactics. I keep saying " the price was low, and updates still coming ", but it's like Scam Citizen all over again. At some point you just have to put your foot down and say, enough is enough. No more " It's in Early Access excuze ", got to put this game were it belongs, else they will just keep doing it.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“KSP 2 will stay in Early Access until we feel..."

This line alone should have netted Negative reviews. I don't own the game, but i hope those people that do, will wake up to the cruel reality.

I recently sold a product to a buyer. Stating in advance that I did not know if the part was working correctly or not. I had no way to test it. The buyer and me agreed on a price + shipping. Two weeks later they buyer reported back that sadly the part was broken. End of story.

Early Access from a publisher with enough money to send someone to the moon for real isn't to fund development, it's just a swindle. Good people try to prevent others from being taken advantage of, even if they were asking for it.

They usually don't call it early access, they market a vague season pass with little information what it will entail. The main product is "live service" which will be "constantly updated".
"Early Access" is more or less honest. AAA corpspeak is not.

As someone who wasted money (50€) on it, honestly I took the gamble and lost, for now. The game is in a bad state.
I gave them the money regardless, because I want it to succeed. I really do. KSP is one of the best games I ever bought, played and learned from.
In that last regard it even beats Elite (my most played title by far) fair and square, although it severely damaged my ability to not scream incoherently at badly
researched sci fi movies.

Comparing a 50€ early access title to eternal alpha-yet already released-36000$ Legatus pack-Scam Citizen makes your whole argumentation null and void in my opinion.
You buy in to EA if you think it'll be a good ride anyway. If you don't think that you don't buy in. Simple.
It really is that simple.
In this case, the rides looks good, has some nice features, but falls apart in the middle of the looping.
