What are the chances of Frontier updating older Animals?

Getting them now you'd have to reinstall them alongside each update for them to work. Once support is done then they'll probably just make finished final mods. Also with new species mods I'll wait till the end cause the devs could always release that animal or release one that makes a better rig for it.

Ok 1st point i get, 5 min of mod updating every 4 months doesnt seem like to much work to me but oh well.
2nd point feels a little like nonsense, couldnt just just boot the modded one out and place the official on in the habitat instead?

It's pretty simple replacing a mod as the animals can easily be sold and then replace them with the official animals. I do the opposite for my zoos all the time where I switch out official animals for modded ones.

I think it's mostly time. I'm no modder but I know that mods require updating/changing the code. Sometimes modders just can't get to updating their mods because of real-life events, so then you have a wonky mod that either doesn't work or crashes your game.

Also, for replacing mods, you'd have to go into the files, delete the right files, etc., and honestly sometimes you can feel lazy and not do it...

I want to throw in the Orang-Utan. As we have brachiations for the siamangs, these apes should get it too, preferably alongside new brachiation frames (Already getting frames without the support beams would greatly benefit creativity, and I'd also love to get a wooden version or a new "brachiation rope").

Sometimes the mod creators take a long time to update the mods which can make those saves unplayable until it’s done.

I'm not against updating older animals but I think it's a little unrealistic to ask Frontier to rework all their animals. And, let's be honest, the vast majority of them still look awesome. So I think we should be reasonable and ask for the updates that are REALLY needed. According to me, there are 3 of them: fixing the malayan tapir, increasing the size of the giant tortoises and add brachiation behavior to the orang-utan.

That's kinda accurate and also why they probably chose the capuchin in the first place. They climb but they tend to prefer the ground if they can.

I've been reading about New World monkeys this past week and some of them kinda go to the ground and hang out (well, at least the sakis and capuchins)

I don't think the chances are good, but we can dream. I wish they would update all the hoofstock, big cats, timber wolf, warthog, and spotted hyena. However, if I can only pick one it would be the lion. I also wish more of the primates would get brachiation.
