What is our best hope now for more monkeys?

I feel like we have a chance at SA monkeys for a walkthrough exhibit, just like the butterflies. Then we also could have a chance they would be able to share a habitat with the sloth. For animal choice I would go for:

  • White Faced Saki
  • Golden Lion Tamarin
  • Emperor Tamarin
  • Common Marmoset
  • Pygmy Marmoset

Tamarins, while I would prefer them as a Habitat animals, I would give pass for Exhibit, but a hard NO from me regarding Saki being exhibit. If Capuchins are habitat, there is no reason why Sakis would not.

We could get an update with expanded exhibit boxes, but I just really want a habitat with a sloth and a white faced saki, cause I think that combination is pretty cool.

Woodlands or Arboreal Pack I could Imagine. I do Not think Forests are out of the Lottery (at least If we get further content over this year). And at the Moment the pattern seems that Frontier giving us animal Packs called Whatever-lands and other more broad themes Scenery Packs.

I would say a children’s zoo pack with a squirrel monkey, maybe if we are lucky a mountains pack could have some Gelada in it. Otherwise I’m not sure, unless we get an Amazon pack.

There are so many possibilities:

  • Amazon
  • Savannah
  • Dry lands
  • Desert (baboon)
  • Mountains/Highlands
  • Tree top/arboreal
  • Rainforests
  • Asia
  • India
  • Round the world
Actually anything is possible, I just don’t see how anyone can consider there being anything impossible - especially as the aquatic and wetlands pack show that they can indeed be somewhat repetitive with the theming and yet produce very different results.

At least 4 more monkeys are needed in my opinion. 2 from SA Howler and Spider monkey, one from Africa I would prefer Mantled guereza and one from Asia - totally unique Lion tailed macaque.
I am not the biggest fan of baboons but I realize they might also be very important for many people. I would be more interested in Gelada probably.
I feel really bad for how neglected langurs are when people are advocating a second macaque...

Love langurs but just as Foxy mentioned we already have Proboscis monkey which is langur.
With indefinite slots I would choose also gray langur and Javan langur. All langurs are great 🙂

Remember also how different from all other macaques Lion tailed are with their manes, color and tails. They are also endangered.

Isnt Proboscis Monkey technically a langur? I think I heard it somewhere.
Technically yes but there are 4 main groups of ‘langurs/asian colobines’ - the sacred/Hanuman langurs, the lutungs, the surilis and the odd-nosed colobines of which the proboscis monkey is one, and they vary considerably in behaviour/ecology and physical build. Personally, I’d love to get at least one langur from Borneo or Malaya to complement the proboscis monkey, Bornean orangutan or gibbons in an exhibit or even a macaque… one can wish

Personally I would prefer a crested black macaque as it would complement the babirusa well and it would also fit an island pack. I’m big on mixed species exhibits and there’s just not enough unique South Indian animals in the game to go along with the lion-tailed macaque.

I think they would go well with Indian elephants or water buffalo or both :)
I would also mix them with fallow deer but that just me 😉

I ean, Lion-tailed are an exception for me cos they are so visually distinct, but I don't feel like proboscis monkeys are exactly a typical langur species, but then again there's also stuff like doucs, snub nosed monkeys and colobus monkeys in their broad category too, all of which are all substantially more visually distinct than say japanese vs babary vs long-tailed etc etc

A Primate Animal Pack is the most assertive option and in this way Frontier has the obligation to put at least 1 new world monkey, probably a Howler or Spider Monkey, but we can imagine around 3 NW monkeys.

For example:

  • Black Howler
  • Spider Monkey
  • Bald Uakari
  • Hamadryas Baboon
  • Lion Tailed Macaque
  • Coquerel's Sifaka
  • Aye-aye
  • Golden Lion Tamarin (WE)
