Grinding CR is becoming boring...

OP - grinding implies monotony, repetition and boredom. If you're unexcited by the so-called grinding do something else. Become a bounty hunter. Explore. Mine. Try piracy. The point of this and all other games is to have fun. And, btw, bigger ships don't tend to make the game more fun.... they just make it easier to earn more credits, which isn't necessarily more fun.

That's exactly what i meant before and how i plan to play.
Sure, i will do some extensive "making money" sessions... when i feel like it.
Maybe after an hour i will get bored and head off to explore something... or shoot something up.
Some days i will lose more money than i make.
But i will play the game the way i want, always doing what i want at the moment.
Some day i will look at my bank account and think "hey look, just a million more and i can reasonably afford the next ship".
THEN i will do some grinding (as far as i know myself).

my advise, for what it's worth: stop thinking about the credits and just do stuff, any stuff you like you will find the credits just add up in the end if your enjoying the ride and not thinking about goals.

nothing wrong with having a goal just saying that it's important not to enjoy getting there as much as arriving, as if you look at it this way the arrival is just gravy on the cake! ;)

Looking at some youtubes and such this game does seem like for a lot of people that's it's Euro Truck Simulator IN SPACE!!! Only every 1/2 hr to an hr or so someone tries to mug you, unless the price of ships drops or I get a lot better at bounty hunting I think the most expensive ship I'll aim for will be the Cobra or Viper (mhmmm chrome). I'm guessing they want people to spend months working to an Anaconda but months of trading in Elite doesn't seem like it'd be fun like EVE so I'm guessing they'll have to change it.

In PB, B1 and B2 I grinded to get the top ships (inc. Anaconda).
In B3 I didn't bother, I just went around trying out different things and not really playing all that much.
I'm in a T6 at the moment, but the Cobra is STILL my fave ship of those available to us right now (after 30 years or so). I've had just as much fun in B3 as the others.
I didn't grind for any ship, just now and again I thought "Oh I have enough for the hauler, let's do some of that and try mining." and then "Ah that should be enough for the Cobra, sweet, time to get one and get some missions sorted."

My opinion :-
Non-stop grinding to get the most expensive ship in the game in a week or so is going to burn you out and reduce your enjoyment of the game massively, but that is up to you. Why are you bothering when it gets wiped soon?
There are lots of things you can do to mix up your gameplay, so take advantage of it.
Credits will come on their own without much effort, as soon as you stop thinking about them too much.
The most expensive ships are not the best. Each ship has a purpose, so an Asp is better than a Courier even though it is cheaper, at quite a few roles. More expensive does not mean better at all things.
The ship prices right now are probably too low, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they go up overall.
Trade routes are paying too much, on average, I expect profit per ton to drop, unless you find a really out of the way route, or prices/demand is inflated due to an event.
Missions pay too much.
A lot of ships are missing. So there will be incremental ships in between something like the Type 6 and the Type 9, which will reduce the feeling of the grind a bit, but...
...the only one who makes it a grind is you.
If you enjoy the journey and the adventures you have on the way the "next big ship" is almost irrelevant; it just happens.
That said if you want to grind 24 hours a day for a week to get an Anaconda, go for it, that's the beauty of Elite, to do what you want. Just don't complain after a week that you're bored with nothing to do.

I intend to be playing for a number of years, not weeks, so I don't want to be able to grind up to every ship in a week.
If it takes me 6 months to get a Type 9, including spare CR for cargo, insurance and fittings, that's pretty cool by me.

A idea and this is what I will be doing. is once I get the Lakon is save up for Cobra So if I get board I can go back to the cobra and play. So I can be that pirate or bounty hunter.
