I think I know where Salvation is...?

I'd say that the guardian modules are quite nice for players that don't want to do the normal engineering "grind". ;)
Problem is, there is no grind for shield reinforcements, because there are no generic shield reinforcement modules. Guardian is the only way to go. 30% flat boost from the Guardian modules is almost as good as equipping a prismatic, and bi-weave setups all but require them in order to pair up with resistance-engineered boosters and form a dependable shield that can withstand punishment and recharge efficiently.

If I didn't have access to Guardian shield reinforcements, I wouldn't be able to do what I can with hulls like the Mamba, which is push the shield north of 1,500 with 70/70/50 resistances.

I find them to be the only way to push shield strength up to a number that I'm happy with. On shield tanking builds, they're indispensable.

Alternatively, if they detect Guardian tech, there's a chance they'll think I'm one of them and toddle off. Or better yet, maybe I can sail along with them like a person covered in zombie guts wandering around with a pack of zombies who don't notice that they're there.

And yes, I did get this idea from The Walking Dead thank you very much.
They more than likely would destroy your ship thinking its badly damaged with only partially working modules.

Yeah alien tech on a ship is a nice idea BUT tbh ive been in the game since 2014 and always thought engineering was a cheap copout instead of proper game balancing. Before that we had the SCB issue but that could have been fixed ages ago instead of thw RNG mess we have now.
