Odyssey Going Forwards

Even though I'm on pc now I still think Odyssey should release for consoles. Just does not feel right...

It's unrealistic, since Fdev no longer maintains the code for the consoles (except for bug fixes).
Odyssey was probably also below sales expectations.
To this day I see no motivation to release odyssey on consoles.

Even if Odyssey is going forwards (does it actually?), it seems to do it at a veeeeeery slow pace.

Planet Zoo and JWE2 are seeing regular updates and new content releases quite often
Odyssey not so much (only 2 updates this year, with the second U16 being only hinted)

Even the weekly Discovery Scanner news were canceled - i mean there weren't actually any news regarding the game, but mostly things organized by the community (fair enough, no real complains here)
I would expect the Frameshift live streams to be moved from a fortnightly schedule to a monthly schedule

For me is it sad to see that there is no stable approach, no communication, some communication, a lot of communication, then again vague communication and now no communication (gamewise). A mixture of this would be great, some community spotlights some infos regarding long term bugs and so on, this would help a lot. The approach should be then stable, I mean we have seen 3 or 4 different versions of communication in two years. For me the best way was the issue list, and the community spotlights. Therefore the insight form the developer was good. But now what we could expect?

Sir David is a visionary that has realized his vision.

It's tough to be interested in tweaking or adding to that piece of art, and probably extremely tough to release the reigns to someone else to make significant modifications.

EDO must have stung him a bit, and I imagine it was the one time he released the reigns to other designers to run the show.

I think OA fairly assesses the communication and direction concerns with the game.

It might be nice if Sir David came back and offered some concrete goals for the game, or at least honestly stated the future is about in game events related to the unfolding narrative.

Sir is applied to first names, if you mean like a knighthood, never surnames. E.g. Sir Winston Churchill or Sir Winston, but not Sir Churchill.

So it'd be Sir David.

Interesting

anyway, i prefer to call Sir David as DBOBE - i hope it's not offensive in an obscure way what that will escape a non British
