Early Arrival at Fuzong Base

Hey guys, I'm nearing the end of the beginners area. I've got the "explore the galaxy" quest at the stations and all that, so I'm still noob level, thus the inquiry;
I was supercruising to Fuzong Base in Orna, and I'm about 95Ls away from it, at which point I drop out of supercruise and arrive at the station
I'm piloting a Cobra Mk.III, but at every other station it requires that I must be around 1Mm away from the base to drop at the station, which I assume is universal to all pilots.
Is this a normal thing that happens sometimes, or have I encountered a bug/glitch?

Well it is an orbital station that is in a very close orbit around the system star - 1ls in fact. So I don't know how you managed to arrive at the station from that distance. Suffice to say that is not normal - so don't worry about it. happens as they say


The safe to disengage distance is determined by the local gravity field - normally is is 1Mm as you say but it can be more - I have seen 9.8Mm for sure, there may be some with even larger figure.

Thank you for the response! I probably read the distance meter wrong or something, but it was still pretty far away. Being in space can do some crazy things to the brain

I love playing bumper ships at Funzone Base! But the tilt-a-station makes me hurl every time.
