Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Well, shallow it may be, but all I've ever wanted was to be left alone and play video games, ever since the first one I played (that wasn't Pong) :p

Retirement allows me to actually do that, pretty much. I spend a lot of time with the dogs, too. And I do some music. But video games are just really fun to me.

My favorites of all time?

In no particular order:

Elite Dangerous
Skyrim
Dishonored (all 3 of them)
Cyberpunk
Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas
Fallout 4
Dragon Age Origins
Sniper Elite 5
Rimworld
Dyson Sphere Program
XCOM 2
X4 Foundations
Far Cry 6
Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain
World of Warcraft

I've enjoyed tons of other games as well, but I think those are my favorites, the ones that I replayed a lot and still play.

I probably forgot some :)

I too am jealous. I'll be 53 next birthday and I've done everything I wanted to do in my career and work is only for the money now. I'd love to retire, but it's 12 or more years before I can. I'd love to spend my days waling and cycling in different parts of the countryside and playing computer games.

I suppose the really hard worky starts now:

EDIT Gave me some cosmetics though so here's my new outfit:

Great going - congratz! 😎

…i’m in the early days of Gladiator still - will probably have to play quite a few more CZ’s / bring down plenty of Goliaths, before i reach the next level - unless U15 brings something green, on foot or tentacles, with a really good combat bond ;]

fonticuli is quite big species...put your glasses on mr magoo.....:)
Frontier takes one species per system and makes them exceedingly difficult to locate, in this case it was fonticuli. I searched at 100m above ground (external camera) at 10m/s for 15 minutes and gave up, wasn't worth that much anyway.

Talk about a tight orbit......

Found some new stratum called Stratum Araneamus, looks like a Dinosaur coprolite. 🤷‍♂️

Cool pics :)

…the elusive Fonticulua might be the rarer Digitos species that look quite different to the others, more like spikey cactus than the big “leafy” things - they tend to grow around the ice caps only. What did the DSS heat map look like there?

It’s almost two years since Odyssey launched and i must admit i still wonder how to read it at times, but afaik blue zones indicate where species may be found due to the right soil conditions / mineral content, though some areas may not have many or any specimens due to not being in the right temperature range - so this is affected by proximity to the poles and also landscape / topography, as height of ground tends to affect temperature quite a bit.

Anyway, when i find planets or moons with quite a lot of Fonticulua blue zones but no specimens, i go hunting around the edges of the ice caps for these:
