Elite Dangerous Update 15 NOW LIVE - Release Notes

What sort of issues are you getting? I use a DS4 controller & Geforce Now to play Odyssey, in the Galaxy Map there was a bug in the "My Fleet" list which I reported to Sally on release day, but I hadn't noticed any other problems navigating around (yet). I'm launching through Steam with some custom button tweaks in Elite's own options screen.
With the Xbox controller, if I target a system in the GalMap it says '(HOLD) A OR (SPACE) to PLOT ROUTE', with A being the green Xbox controller A button.

If I hold A, nothing happens. I have to use space bar to plot routes in GalMap.

Works fine on my side. ??

I've definitely been selecting destinations using the "A" button (well, the equivalent - DS4 gets treated as an Xbox controller by Steam/Geforce anyway), and the behaviour did seem to change slightly after U15. Before U15, in the Galaxy Map if I selected a destination by text search or bookmark etc. then the map would zoom there, but in order to plot a route I had to move away from the target system a little, then go back to it, reselect and hold "A". After U15 I don't think I had to do the reselection step.

Ach, my short term memory is failing me again - thanks, I'll have a closer look tonight.

Turns out my memory was ok - managed to do a quick test. I don't need to reselect the system any more, just holding A plots the route. As long as a little cyan circle is lit up, holding A plots a route to it. Yay U15.

Does a long hold of A work elsewhere in the game for you? Could try mapping some cockpit event to it just to test?

Hold A is how I access button presses for GalMap, SysMap, Hyperspace, Supercruise and that works fine.
Hold A also does not work on the Sys Map. I can't think of anywhere else I need to use Hold A!

And after some less-quick testing it seems the previous issue still sometimes occurs for me. Apologies. Bad me. Bad U15.

The workaround for me is still to move the map a little way from the selected destination system (just an inch or two of screen), then go back to it, select and long press A. Any luck with that? It's a workaround, but a fairly trivial one if it works.

Yeah, if I've searched for a system by name, I have to move the cursor a little just to get Hold Space to work. This does not fix Hold A.

I have also noticed that Hold A does not work in the GalMap > Bookmarks menu.

FWIW, I have similar issues with my T16k HOTAS since long (EDO Alpha), not only with the maps, but other UI elements too (looking at you here, shipyard buttons and carrier UI - the latter dependant on whether you open the menu from inside a ship or on the carrier itself), so it may not be related to U15. Posted an issue in that fine tracker several times, but they all got 'solved' by getting outdated. Mouse click and space bar are reliable, and the buttons inside the ship are all ok, so I just live with it.

O7,
🙃

It's possible to turn off Steam support for DS4 and let Elite itself handle the controller. This is what I've done in the past (there's a per-game setting in Steam). Maybe that would help?

That would be cheating a rebuy. I live here now.
Lmao, solid answer. o7

I recently noticed that the on-foot audio cues had reset to "muted", so you could check if that is the case.

Last part is a seperate issue that most likely is in line with the one affecting the POI list. (unable to zoom to target from list: Reported, known)

Protip: do not bind "UI select" to "A (Hold)"; use "Tap" only. (reason follows)

Before U15, system selection on the galmap was too stringent: while tapping A would select&zoom to it, sometimes it wouldn't set.

Now, the selection circle is much more fuzzy, and having the selection circle near a system and tapping A will zoom&center.
After this, A(hold) will plot route.

There are still some selection windows that needs TLC to work fully with a controller.
(using an old xbox360 controller bc it's what i have)
