[I want to be as polite and respectful as possible. Just my humble opinion. I hope it is allowed. We can disagree in this forum and still respect each other.]
It doesn't feel too polite tbh and the discussion isn't about a relevant topic anymore but seems to be about cherry-picking your interpretation about what someone said to prove a point which is not even clear to me. You don't have to be right and try to prove your right by twisting what others said. We have different opinions and should be able to understand it. You've given your opinion which is fair. Others have given their opinion which is also fair. There's no point in continuing this into an endless discussion where it's no longer about sharing opinions and thoughts but only trying to prove you're 'right' and others are 'wrong' by aggressively twisting words and only discussing semantics while the original arguments are totally lost.
A final point about the cherry-picked argument which isn't even relevant at all:
'No one is asking for cats and dogs' --> sure you can find people asking for it on a forum with what? over a million posts? Don't take it all so literally. I agree that it shouldn't have been worded as 'literally no one ever asked for it', but who cares? The point is that the discussion here was not about cats or dogs. Yes you're right that cats and dogs are domestic animals, but not all domestic animals are cats and dogs. The ones where the discussion started are what I would call 'farm' animals (specifically because someone requested cattle and then others requested more species typically found in petting zoos). We can have another 20 page discussion about whether cats and dogs are farm animals, but that would surely miss the point; they obviously live on farms, but again they were not part of this discussion so no point of bringing them in as a strawman argument.
I don't need to have a final word in this discussion or anything, but it bothers me that in multiple threads in this Forum arguments seem to get so heated lately while totally losing any relevance. I remember reading so many posts on the Planet Zoo reddit about how wonderful, kind and respectful this game's community is, and it's sad to see these endless pointless discussions here of all places.
