Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

Is
Unless they're saving a scenery pack for Christmas for some reason, the Autumn pack will definitely be scenery.

I'm struggling to guess a theme. Twilight and Conservation weren't exactly predictable. Tropical was more predictable but still unexpected.

Honestly highlands/alpine/mountains seems like it could make a good scenery pack. Log cabins/ski lodge theme, maybe some Buddhist temple-type scenery (Himalayan) like prayer wheels and flags. Markhor, gelada (boooo the fake baboon), Pallas cat, spectacled bear, and some kind of exhibit animal (I want to say 'kea' for the WE but we know it won't be a bird).

Of course it could be something totally random. "Beach Pack" with the Humboldt penguin, pelican, sea otter, and walrus, and the Inca tern as the exhibit animal. "Underground Pack" with animals that burrow. "Urban Pack" with city-dwellers (already got that in the Twilight Pack I suppose, but who knows? There are urban animals in more places than North America). "Invasion Pack" with animals that are invasive in other countries.
lsland scenery pack for autumn
Highland animal pack for winter

Im personally still a big big fan of an urban pack.
The grey langur for india, common brushtail possum for australia, wild boar for eurasia, canda goose for everywhere and either the common pidgeon or rose ringed parakeet from india, africa and invasive a few other places with some generic city scenery would be awesome.
We could finally get some proper cars and a street path, aswell as many other trinkets and gadgets from around our citys like street signs, power lines, some generic foliage for europe, temperate australia and na and india aswell as the perfect opportunity for some new shops.
Atleast for me that be quite the perfect pack

That's it , keep it coming people. Cuz with the arid animal pack, we now know it ain't about taxon composition anymore!
Flood here with all the animals y'all want for each theme and we mingle out a collective picture, hopefully Frontiers take it to heart (I mean seriously, if they didn't have attention of this why the porcupine lol!).

First up, WOODLANDS PACK

Have at them!!!
I don't understand the logic, but okay...
  • Muntjac
  • Wolverine
  • Sichuan Takin
  • Short-Beaked Echidna
  • Patagonian Mara
  • ?
  • ?

This is what I can recall from my current Woodland Animal Pack... I'm told Maras aren't found in wooded areas, but Wikipedia says some can be found in forests, so... whatever.

lsland scenery pack for autumn
Highland animal pack for winter
Islands should be an animal pack due to sheer diversity of options for islands...
Highlands should be a scenery pack... if only for the slim hope of a genuine gondola ride...

Sorry, I was a bit disoriented after hyping myself up before work😅😅
What I was trying to say is I'd like to put up possible themes, so just list out all the animals you'd wish to see in the theme provided. And if any of the animals we have on our own lists overlap, we could perhaps mold it into a single roster in the end.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea to mix your own list with others but just for the fun, I guess.😅

I guess there's a lot of people who want wolverines in-game, huh?
At any case, love your choices with the muntjacs and maras. Apparently they are found in scrub forests so I think maybe it's possible even if it's a stretch.

Back on the topic of complementary packs (SEA-Tropical, Africa-Arid), is there a possibility that Twilight pack was already a complementary for NA animal pack? I mean Wombat aside (Tropical had two African animals and Arid a Rhino)

If that's so then I think Mountain scenery pack is more likely candidate than Woodlands. Also mountains have more to offer in terms of possible scenery than Woodlands (in my opinion).

Also I think it's good idea, when it comes to predicting packs, to take a look what was requested back in the day (say NA and EU pack days) to see what was then seen as community wish.

Dromedary was highly asked for when Africa pack came out due to scenery, Black Rhino was on par with White just before pack came out. Gibbon was mentioned here and there during SEA pack days, especially from people dissatisfied with Proboscis Monkey.

Because when they release a pack, the few next ones were probably already planned out and maybe even deep into development, so wishes hang in ether a bit.

So maybe some of the nailed candidates for possible mountain pack are hidden in old Africa, NA, EU packs threads?

I hope this or the next pack will contain the hamadryas baboon, walrus, (I know people will hate me for the following) nile croc & african leopard. After that I don't care whatever they would give us tbh. (Maybe another turtle)

I envy you hahaha, I have so many animals I want to see it is sad. Yes we wont see all animals we want but there are too many interesting choices.
:ROFLMAO:

If so, could the Hamadryas Baboon that missed out in the arid animal pack could come in the possible mountain pack?
There's always a possibility, as I think Sand Cat must be the newest inclusion in pack (or an older oddball to happen to allign with newer wishes) but I was thinking of older wishes more, talking 2021

Older wishes I can remember from 2021 are impalas, baboons, geladas, and chameleons for Africa Pack, coyote and black bear or NA, and wild boar and wisent for EU. At least that's what I remember in the posts on Reddit back then

If I were to make a Woodlands Pack, I would make it an animal pack (so probably for the winter period rather than autumn) and focus primarily on more tropical woodlands (dry forests) as well as temperate rainforest. This would be my dream lineup for a Woodlands Animal Pack.

It's probably unlikely that we'd get so many birds and multiple monkeys, but let a guy dream.

Ahh yes of course, the old bird dilemma. But hey try on more pheasant like species cuZ there's a good chance for those 😅.

lsland scenery pack for autumn
Highland animal pack for winter

I really like this idea!

Islands as a scenery pack with polynesian or south pacific style

Islands Pack
  • North Brown Kiwi
  • Tasmanian Devil
  • Tree Kangaroo
  • Crested Penguin
  • Loriketee species for walkthrough exibith

Highlands Animal Pack
  • Yak
  • Wolverine
  • Gelada
  • Spectacled bear
  • Mountain goat
  • Vicuña
  • Markhor
  • Mountain Viper for terrarium

I would like to see a rainforest or highland or island pack. But I think they serve better as animal packs

Assuming its a scenery pack, I don't think the next pack is based on any biome or habitat or a region. I think it's going to be more of a wild card type like conservation, and twilight or seems random and adds a new game mechanic like the aquatic pack. The last few updates have also been about animal behaviours. Someone a while ago suggested piggy backing and that could be an option and I wonder if there will be more parent-child behaviours brought in like cuddling .

So perhaps an Education Pack
Learning for the young guests and the young animals, with four new child friendly animals including the inquisitive Ring-tailed coati, the Radiated tortoise, Patagonian Mara and Parma Wallaby plus finally find out where the panther chameleon has been hiding all this time.

We have
Tropical
Woodlands
Grasslands
Aquatic
Arctic

And now arid

So to go with this theme the following could happen

  • temperate
  • tundra
  • alpine
  • steppe
  • Mediterranean

The ones I hope for is steppe or temperate.

P.s. Temperate covers Tasmania ;)
Temperate is my hope. I had an animal pack in mind, but I pared it down to a scenery pack, with these animals in mind:

Tasmanian Devil
Wolverine
Spectacled Bear
Wisent or Wild Boar (the other could be an anniversary animal)
Exhibit: Ideally, I'd love if we were getting an avian DLC in the winter, and this would be a tester animal with the Bald Eagle. But that's not likely. So instead I choose the Painted Turtle.

I left out the Kiwi, because I'd love to get content into next year and have next Spring be an Island pack where it could headline, but if we truly only have two packs left (and it is possible), take out the Wisten/Wild Boar and get that Kiwi in there. Wild Boar definitely my pick for the Anniversary animal in that case.

ETA: My top three mammals could all fit under a Temperate theme, so it's no surprise that's the one I'm really hoping for. And of course, that's my ideal list. It could well be that we'd only get one or two of them. Which I'd be crushed if it were just one because I really really "need" both the Wolverine and Tasmanian Devil. I can make do without the Spectacled Bear, though I don't really want to. lol

If we have at least another year of content ahead of us, this would be a fantastic pack!
