Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

In my opinion Oceania has a good Representation in the meantime. I would want to get an Echidna, Tree Kangaroo, Kiwi and the Tassie. But with these 4 animals the Most important animals are within the Game. On the other hand parts of Asia really do Not have a good Representation. Central and Eastern Asia plus India are still underrepresented in my opinion. But honestly I am Not a big Fan of this comparing representation thing from this part and that part. But everybody can see it in his own way. In Europe a Lot of IRL Zoo have a big overrepresentation of African animals For example.
In my opinion Oceania has a bad representation. On the other hand I think North America could get away with 2 more animals to be fully complete. So yeah everything's opinionated.

And what would you the to ide of the idea for Far East animal pack?
I think the game would benefit greatly with more general Asia animals especially ungulates:

1. Wolverine ⭐️ of the pack
2. Perè David’s deer
3. Golden takin
4. Blackbuck
5. Lion tailed macaque
6. Sloth bear
7. Markhor or Snub nosed monkey
Ex: Indian cobra or Indian hornbill
I live for this lineup. Just think that India is a bit of a stretch for "Far East" and we're unlikely to return to regions. But I strongly agree with you that there is a lot left to be explored in Asia. It has a lot of species right now but this is the world's largest continent with some highly distinct subregions that are underrepresented relative to biodiversity, especially when considering the type of animal that Frontier goes for.

Like here's a map of even-toed ungulates (and since there's only 2-3 odd-toed ungulates max in most locations, close to being a map of ungulates in general). That ultra-yellow bit of Northeastern India/Southwest China/Tibet is full of deer and caprids, so much so that it rivals the antelope diversity of the African savanna. But we have zero deer or caprids from that region in the game. Right below is the savanna/forest mainland of India, also yellow. Again, we have zero ungulates for that section (wild buffalo and even rhino are found mostly in northern and northeastern India, so much of the yellow area in India does not include them.

Only Sub-Saharan Africa is richer in ungulates, yet we have much more ungulate rep from North Africa, Europe and North America than India or China. Even Central Africa gets a huge boost on this map from duikers, which are unlikely to be represented by multiple species in the game, yet we have considerable ungulate diversity for that region vs. India/China with visually unique large animals.

Hard to argue for ungulates over other animal categories at this point, as I too would prioritize a diversification towards birds and primates, but this is just something on my mind when thinking about broad narratives on geographic representation.

I love aquariums but tbh I don't think there would be enough content to make a solo-aquarium game. I'd much rather have aquariums incorporated into Planet Zoo (either this one or the sequel), especially when you consider how commonly aquariums are just placed as part of zoos.
What? There are so many individual aquariums and sea worlds worldwide. May have a smaller market, but there's definitely a market for a game like this.

So i've been thinking and with the playground tease and the fact they are adding more animal-guest interactions i think expecting a sort of petting zoo pack for OCTUBER is the safe bet.

Not to excited about the idea though unless they don't go the full farm route and instead we get at least some kind of waterfowl or a small monkey or maybe even the first birds for WE?

I’ve posted this before so I’ll post it again - here is my ideal children’s zoo/ farm pack: First if it is a scenery pack
  1. Dwarf Goat species
  2. Squirrel Monkey
  3. African spurred tortoise
  4. Mallard Duck/ Mandarin Duck/ Wood Duck/ Ducks!!!!
  5. Walkthrough: budgies
Bonus 3 animals if it is a surprise animal pack:
  1. Patagonian Mara
  2. Domestic Chickens (various color morphs and breeds)
  3. A domestic cow species? Maybe a highland cow, zebu, or watusi cattle
Some people might not like the idea of a pack with domestic animals, but I like to build realistic zoos and I do not have enough farm animals. Most zoos have a farm section. Also this pack would be perfect for introducing our first interactive bird in the walkthrough exhibit, or possibly new habitat birds in waterfowl.

We already had a Lot of "Safe" Bets. But not being too excited about it and reading too much into it is the safe way to not be disappointed in Fall.

Edit: If it should be Petting Zoos (I still believe in Islands Scenery) I would Hope for:
Alpaca
Dwarf Goat
A domestic cow or a domestic Pig
A Duck/Goose species

I have No Idea which animal could be Exhibit: Butterflys which I really could have imagined for such a pack are already within the Game. Perhaps parrots?

The only thing fitting for a Petting zoo pack that i can think of are Budgies or cockatiels in the WE. I cant imagine they would put some kind of reptile, amphibian or arthropod in there since most reptile really dislike being touched and for amphibian and bugs it could be quite dangerous even. Ofcourse this would kinda only matter if guest could even interact with the exhibit animals

Ive really warmed up to such a pack over the years. Especially since it could come with some really cool scenery like hay bales maybe even parking lot stuff like cars
I haven't lol

If we are really just 2 DLC left form end support and one of them is a petting zoo type of pack i will be su upset lol

But the only thing that could make a pack like this interesting to me is if it has a duck, a small monkey or the patagonian mara. Oh and only if we actually get either tamarins or lorikeets for the WE. Or maybe, MAYBE ant colonies or honey bees or naked mole rats for the regular exhibits.

We will know in September. And pretty likely we get at least 3 further DLC as it is mentioned in the link from Doran that the actual games are getting support through FY 2024 (which is ending on the 31st of May 2024)

Oh right the easter DLC, i forgot about that one.

Well, still. Assuming we'll get 1 more animal pack and 2 scenery that makes for 15 more habitat animals + 1 anniversary. If four of those are domestic breeds of pigs, cows and goats it will be a waste in my eyes. But i know is just a personal opinion and a lot of people are actually excited to get a farm animal pack or something similar.

The good thing is we will likely already know if we should get a further year of support before we will get the next DLC. But really, everything about only 3 DLCs is just speculating. End will happen or not but this is at the Moment really pure speculation. And Independently from the amount of further DLC I am not a big Fan of a Petting Zoo Pack as I personally prefer the Wild animals over the domestic ones (Wild Boar over Domestic Pig for example)

Well, consider this, y'all:

We have European fallow deer. We have Bactrian and dromedary camels. We have llamas. We have red-necked wallabies. We have Indian peafowl. We have capybaras. All these animals are totally perfect for a petting zoo.
We have animal spitting behavior. We have guests handling butterflies. These are great for petting zoos, as well.

If we were to get a petting zoo DLC, I'm sure that it'll have a great update revolved around human-animal interactions. This would add a lot of life into the game, both with guests and animals. Guests won't be mindless pumpkin-eaters or soda chugging machines. They'll be able to properly interact with animals. We could have feeding stations, allowing animals to walk up and take food from guests. We could have animals randomly approach guests, and guests can pet them.

The animals could also be semi-exotic domestic species, like what we've gotten. Patagonian mara. Fowl, such as turkeys, junglefowl. Pheasants. Waterfowl.
If we get a WE, and it's along the lines of small parrots, imagine the excitement...

Maybe for petting zoo, walkthrough exhibit could be having rabbits and guinea pigs? I've seen it in few zoos.

I am not a fan of further mammals within WTE. Sloth had the problem of its slow movements which was only able to be managed by putting it into these exhibits and in case of the bats it seems to be the only way to bring flying into the game. The Sloth thing was explained at the Dev Diary of the Tropical Pack. I do not see these problems with Guinea Pigs or Rabbits. I think any kind of smaller bird would fit (and bringing finally flying birds).

I mean it depends on the actual mammals. I would really enjoys something like mole rats for example
