Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

Any sources that we will get more dlc in 2024?
Nope. Its been said many times getting content in FY2(X)doesnt mean we will get content through its entire duration.
Next pack can be last one and frontier statement will be correct aswell. Heck, we dont know if they were even talking about PZ, because frontier portfolio consist of few games.

As today there is not a single information about year 2024.

Edit: or anything related to PZ future at all. This time frontier didnt make presentation and video for some reason.

There was the Link of Doran (I do Not know which thread) where there was a short summary about the FY2023 which will come in full length mid September. And in this it was mentioned that the actual games get futher content through FY2024. And FY2024 lasts until 31st of May. Perhaps this was also mentioned within the last full annual Report (FY2022) which you can find by Google (Just Type Frontier annual Report and you can find a Page with alle the recent annual Reports from Frontier).
That is the reason why I think we get at least a spring DLC in 2024 as this still is part of the FY2024. Sure Frontier Always can decide to stop support with this or the next pack. But it is written within this Report. Everything else with regard of 2024 would be Part of FY2025 and pure speculation. Only the full annual Report in mid September could make it clearer for us.

All actual games are meant when I have read this right. And sure, Support even could end now and we will know it after waiting and waiting for an autumn Pack.

In that case...please give us African Antelope #20 and don't worry about birds, we didn't want them anyways.
I have at least 3 antelopes from Africa I really want to have within the Game and all 3 are in my own personal Wishlist above any birds 🙂 (Birds Just do Not have my preferences compared to the average User Here 😃)

This is true. I know there's an inclination to say something akin to "it can't be over yet, they still have to include the Tasmanian Devil (or any other animal you feel is "required".). They don't have to include any particular animal, as much as we'd want otherwise. For all we know, they looked at the meta list 2 years ago and knocked off everything that was way up there. Tasmanian Devil was probably in the lower top 10 at that point, if top 10 at all. They could have had a list they created to check off, and possibly could have done it. For all we know the Porcupine was the "last hurrah".

I don't want that to be the case, obviously. I'm hoping for 6 more packs, but prepared for 2. Getting no more is not something I think many of us have prepared ourselves for, but it's not completely impossible just unlikely. Unlikely that the Arid pack was the last one, I mean. We very probably have 2 more packs coming.

Be warned, if we get the wolverine and the Tasmanian devil together in the same pack I'm going to scream louder than @Swiftie_Midnights_
there is no louder than me! sorry! LOL! I screamed SO loud in everytime we got something that is related to Porcupine! so there is no one that can scream louder than ME lol! but I would love to hear you screaming! it would be a great that you would experience that I experienced! the only chance that I would scream at almost the same level as I did with the porcupine is if we getting Tree Kangaroo and Two-Toed Sloth at the same pack, but even that it's not the same as the porcupine!

FUN FACT: have you know how POWERFUL porcupine can be?

I think it's actually a near certainty we will have 1 more pack coming at the very least. And, same as you, fingers crossed for several more.

Personally, I'm not worried about support ending unless there's (1) an announcement about a console port (2) a reveal about a new Planet IP and/or (3) a kitchen sink-type DLC where Frontier chucks in its remaining PZ-related assets for one last "cash grab", for lack of a better term.

Until then, I'm loving this thread and reading about the wonderful new animals we might expect to see in the Fall that would join an already impressive roster of ~150 habitat + exhibit animals available through the base game and current DLCs!

I feel the same. It is very tireing for me to read the forums these days as each thread basically starts with "we might only have 2 DLCs left" and in almost all threads there is this discussion about the end. I mean, of course the game will end, but do we have to talk about it constantly these days without any proof?

I would rather just talk about what we would want without any limitations so Frontier knows we want more than limit my wishlists to certain amount of animals because "the support is probably ending soon". If it will, then fine, but talking about it all the time without any confirmation or proof is just very, very tireing to me.

Yep, I am the same opinion. One good thing is that we likely will know a Bit more before the next DLC will happen 🙂

Not to disagree with this particular statement, but the statement I made was sort of in agreement with your statement about how Frontier could end support already and we just wouldn't know it. Just noting where that line of thought came from. I certainly have hope we'll have content into 2024, ideally the entire year. The longer content support lasts, the better.

It was meant as a general statement to agree with FoxyDee and not in any intention to (only) your post 🙂.

So true!

I'm sympathetic to those discussions because it's hard not to worry when you care about something so much. But I believe it's good to stay positive and think constructively. And as you said, if Frontier is listening in, so much the better.

So, Frontier, how about adding at least one species of waterfowl in the next DLC :)

I'm actually quite okay with the possibility that the game might end at the end of the year. Sure, there will always be more animals that the game can add; but I'm already quite satisfied with the current line-up the game has. The fact that we're talking more about a possible end is because there are some signs on the horizon, which although might not be definitive, do point in that direction; unlike previous years were it was just a few people who were gloom-and-doom-posting based on well, nothing really.

Honestly, the aforementioned tundra pack with a walrus, musk ox, wolverine and Yukon Bay inspired scenery is something I'd be all for. And if this is indeed the last year and Frontier goes for their usual "bigger DLC as the last DLC"; I'd love to see a 8-habitat-animal + 150+ scenery pieces pack. Throw in the last remaining animals we've all really wanted, from Tasmanian Devil to Coati to Tree Kangaroo to Takin. Give us some generic zoo pieces that we can use to build more zoo specific things, and I'm sold.

All in all, even if it's just two more packs, there's still plenty to look forward to. Nothing is ever meant to last and that goes for Planet Zoo as well. And if it ends at the end of the year, we've gotten 4 years of DLCs, with 16 packs in total. That's an incredible amount and I think that the "what's next" fever sometimes makes us forget how much we already have.

I have a feeling that the game would end with update 1.20 in December 2024.

20 DLC’s with 20 updates. That would actually make a lot of sense ☺️

That would still give us 6 DLC’s with 41 new animals including 2 anniversary animals.

That’s still a lot of place for monkeys, birds and other most requested animals.

What do you think?

Agreed, we are really lucky that the game has received so much attention and love from Frontier!

That said, I'd love another year of DLC, get that 5 year anniversary!

Oh, do not get me wrong, I am incredibly grateful that we are at this point with so many DLCs and great updates, and with each announcement, I thank the devs for their continued support of the game. I am also aware of the possibility of last 2 DLC (but I honestly think they will support PZ until release of their next Planet game, just as they did with the Coaster, and since nothing was even announeced yet, so I do hope PZ still have some life left).

I just do not think this possibility should limit our wishes until we know it for sure. And like I said, reading about it constantly everywhere disengage me from the disscussions tbh. Of course, people are free to discuss it, I am just sharing my point of view. :)
