I don't think there was ever any update that brought some major new features entirely unannounced, with no teasers and such. If I'm wrong, somebody correct me.

There was an edge case though, when folks found NPCs flying Mambas and Krait Phantoms in the Beyond Chapter Four beta, and FD only announced those ships after they were seen in-game. So, on one hand it really was a surprise, on the other hand, it was a surprise only for the beta and not for the release. It's debatable if this would count or not.

You know, while technically it could be done (but the increase in minimal hardware requirements would cause players to riot), legally, it would cause the game to be pulled from Steam. Talk about a pp collapse there. (Sorry, but I found that part of your post too funny to pass this one up )

One thing I didn't see - posting here as it seems as good a place as any - is that, according to @sallymorganmoore 's post, the d/l size is:

• Steam: Approximately 3GB
• Epic: Approximately 7GB

How does that translate into those who download from Frontier itself?

thanks to the new launcher im not going through steam anymore. and many players were doing so even before. steam isnt the all-knowing indicator.

Yeah, we all know they are not an indicator of absolute numbers. But they are useful to see general trends.
